It was truly an Amazing Borneo experience!

I have recently completed a 3D2N Mount Kinabalu hike from 1st to 3rd September 2024, and I am incredibly grateful to Amazing Borneo for such a well-organized and memorable experience. This was my second time booking with Amazing Borneo, and the service was exceptional throughout. From the smooth booking process with Mr. Lewis on the WhatsApp helpline to the seamless logistics from the airport to Kinabalu Park HQ, everything was handled flawlessly. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Ms. Julie from the Amazing Borneo operation team, setting the perfect tone for the hike.

I would like to especially highlight my mountain guide, Mr. Joel Sanan, whose professionalism and passion truly enhanced the experience. My mountain guide’s calm and reassuring presence made all the difference, especially during the more challenging parts of the climb. His support wasn’t just physical—offering a helping hand when needed—but also motivational, as he constantly encouraged me when I felt fatigued or discouraged. His frequent reminder, “Cuba dulu, kalau tak boleh, kita patah balik” (Try first, if it’s not possible, we’ll turn back), was incredibly comforting. It was reassuring to know he had my back without ever pressuring me. His attentiveness to my well-being, checking for signs of altitude sickness and helping with my gear, was invaluable.

Additionally, I had asked my mountain guide to take several pictures and videos at the Submit. Despite the cold, windy conditions and the difficulty of handling equipment with gloves on, he took out his gloves and helped without hesitation or complaint. His willingness to go the extra mile ensured I leave with beautiful memories captured on camera, for which I am truly grateful.

For anyone considering the Mount Kinabalu trek, I found this mountain guide, Mr Joel Sanan’s professionalism and passion to be invaluable, and I’m confident others will find him just as exceptional.

With regards to accommodation - I stayed at Pendant Hut at base camp. There was a fellow hiker who became ill and vomited, but the staff at Pendant Hut immediately cleaned up the area without any complaint and later checked on the hiker’s condition to ensure he was recovering well. Their compassion and attentiveness in this situation truly impressed me and reflected the care they extend to all their guests.

To me, it was truly an Amazing Borneo. I highly recommend to all my friends and family members. Thank you for the incredible experience.

A tour company that delivers

We did the 3 day 2 night Mount Kinabalu climb with Via Ferrata - through Amazing Borneo Tours and we couldn't fault them. Every part of our trip worked like clockwork. The transfers turned up on time, all of the accomodation and meals were organised as they said they would and we had a helpful mountain guide for our climb. I would definitely book tours through this company again.

5 Star Tour Guide!

I enjoyed my tour in Sabah. The tour guide, Mr Neil has great knowledge of the places that he brings us too. I appreciate his efforts of taking care of us and handling all of our accommodations and the admission fees and such.

The hotel that he brought us to were really great. The comfort was great with the luxurious room booked for us. His initiativeness has allow us to explore and deepen our understanding of the different culture there. He also has reccommended places to purchase our needed items with quality items.
He would also help us to get to the activities planned before there is crowd that may impede the rest of the planned activities on the day.
I feel spending 4 days and 3 nights at Sabah is really not enough for me. If I were to go again, I would stay for atleast a week to explore the place fully as a youngster.

I really enjoy the atmosphere at the kundasang. As it is my first time there, I find it very sceneric and it is very nice place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet there. In my opinion, Sabah is great for those who likes to island hop, those who likes taking pictures, those who would love to deepen their knowledge in environment be it for science studies or for fun, and definitely for those who plan to climb the mountain kinabalu. Overall out of 5, I would give it beyond 5. 10 out of 5 ⭐️!

An excellent travel agent to engage for you holiday in Sabah

We recently returned from a 17-day holiday in Sabah. We engaged Amazing Borneo to put together a custom itinerary for us, as we were looking for a more comprehensive experience than offered on their website. Carol took our ideas and crafted them into a holiday by linking together smaller tours and private transfer between them where needed. At each stage in the booking process Carol was responsive to our needs and when we flew into Kota Kinabalu we were confident that things would go to plan.

When we arrived we were contacted by Ryan on WhatsApp and during the holiday we received 24/7 ground support. Ryan would let us know in advance what the arrangements would be for the following day, and on the rare occasion when things didn’t run smoothly he sorted things out.

The drivers provided were good and safe – we never felt we were in danger even on narrow mountain roads. We can unconditionally recommend Amazing Borneo for anyone who is looking for a personalised itinerary.
