- Sandakan to Lahad Datu: About 4 hours. Many visitors prefer flying into Sandakan first to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre or Selingan Turtle Island. From there, they often continue to Sukau in Kinabatangan for an overnight stay before driving to Utan Rainforest Lodge, exploring Borneo’s top eco-tourism spots along the way.
