Day 2 Free & Easy at The Magellan Sutera Resort Rise & shine for breakfast After breakfast, opt to book a Fun Boat Snorkeling & Island Visit tour (you may book in advance with our Sales Representative) or have yourself some peace and relaxation at Magellan Sutera Resort's own spa centre, the Mandara Spa. Day 3 Check Out from The Sutera Harbour Resort / Flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Bilit Rainforest Lodge / Kinabatangan River Cruise Another day, another time for exploring. This time in Sandakan! Have yourself some breakfast & proceed to check out of your room. Transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport where you will catch your flight to Sandakan. Warm greetings and pick up at Sandakan Airport. Journey to the famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Upon arrival, your guide will provide a short briefing session. Watch a documentary providing you with information of the centre & the rehabilitation of an orphaned Orang Utan before entering. Enjoy as you get to encounter Orang Utans up close as they frolic in their natural habitat & proceed to the boardwalk where you can witness the Orang Utan feeding time from a feeding platform. After enjoying some time with the Orang Utans, you will proceed to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Sun Bear is the smallest bear in the world where their height of adult is around 120cm to 150cm (while standing); weight around 27kg to 65kg. You can easily spot white or yellowish crescent marking on its chests. Then you will be taken on a 2-hour journey to the Bilit Jetty where you will take a boat ride to Bilit Rainforest Lodge. A welcome drink is served upon your arrival & check in at Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Lunch is served for you to refuel and recharge! Hop onto your Kinabatangan River Cruise in the evening to discover wildlife situated along the river such as Proboscis Monkeys, rare bird species, and maybe chance upon a herd of Pygmy Elephants! Dinner will be ready after your river cruise. After dinner, you can opt for a complimentary night safari cruise for the opportunity to spot nocturnal animals, or have some leisure time to yourself before spending the night at Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Day 4 Morning Cruise or Jungle Trek Good Morning, sunshine! It's time to take in the crisp morning air by either going for an early morning river cruise along the Kinabatangan River or going for a jungle trek at Oxbow Lake. After a morning of wildlife encounters, it’s time to refuel and recharge with a full-spread breakfast. Free and easy leisure time to yourself until lunch time in the afternoon. Spend your time relaxing by the river or explore the surroundings of the lodge. It’s time to prepare and head out for another river cruise! Dinner is served in the dining hall after your river cruise session Pamper yourself with some leisure time before spending your last night at Bilit Rainforest Lodge. Day 5 Check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge / Gomantong Cave / Sandakan Airport / Kota Kinabalu / Check in to The Magellan Sutera Resort A hearty breakfast will be served to kick start another day! Check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge & take a 30-minute journey to Gomantong Cave. Explore the intricate cave system of Gomantong Caves where it is home to millions of bats and swiflets. If you’re lucky, you may get to witness the birds’ nest harvesting in action! After some time spent at Gomantong, it’s time to feed those rumbling tummies with lunch at a local restaurant. Bid Sandakan farewell & make your way to Sandakan Airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu city. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you’ll be transferred to The Magellan Sutera Resort where you will spend the remainder of your time in Sabah recuperating from your Sandakan adventures.
