Day 1 - Arrive In Kota Kinabalu / Check in to The Magellan Sutera Resort / Free & Easy

  • Touch down at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Your Sabah adventure begins here!  
  • Transfer to Kota Kinabalu where you will check in to your room at the Magellan Sutera Resort. 
  • After checking in to the resort, feel free to explore the sights and sounds of the buzzing Kota Kinabalu city and nightlife.
  • It’s time for a good night’s rest at the The Magellan Sutera Resort to re-energise for more adventures tomorrow!

Day 2 - Free & Easy at The Magellan Sutera Resort

  • Rise & shine for breakfast
  • After breakfast, opt to book a Fun Boat Snorkeling & Island Visit tour (you may book in advance with our Sales Representative) or have yourself some peace and relaxation at Magellan Sutera Resort's own spa centre, the Mandara Spa.
  • After a full day of activity, it's time to catch on some shut eye with an overnight stay at the The Magellan Sutera Resort.

Day 3 - Check Out from The Sutera Harbour Resort / Flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Bilit Rainforest Lodge / Kinabatangan River Cruise

  • Another day, another time for exploring. This time in Sandakan!
  • Have yourself some breakfast & proceed to check out of your room.
  • Transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport where you will catch your flight to Sandakan.
  • Warm greetings and pick up at Sandakan Airport.
  • Journey to the famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre.
  • Upon arrival, your guide will provide a short briefing session. Watch a documentary providing you with information of the centre & the rehabilitation of an orphaned Orang Utan before entering.
  • Enjoy as you get to encounter Orang Utans up close as they frolic in their natural habitat & proceed to the boardwalk where you can witness the Orang Utan feeding time from a feeding platform.
  • After enjoying some time with the Orang Utans, you will proceed to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.
  • Sun Bear is the smallest bear in the world where their height of adult is around 120cm to 150cm (while standing); weight around 27kg to 65kg. You can easily spot white or yellowish crescent marking on its chests.
  • Then you will be taken on a 2-hour journey to the Bilit Jetty where you will take a boat ride to Bilit Rainforest Lodge.
  • A welcome drink is served upon your arrival & check in at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.
  • Lunch is served for you to refuel and recharge!
  • Hop onto your Kinabatangan River Cruise in the evening to discover wildlife situated along the river such as Proboscis Monkeys, rare bird species, and maybe chance upon a herd of Pygmy Elephants!
  • Dinner will be ready after your river cruise.
  • After dinner, you can opt for a complimentary night safari cruise for the opportunity to spot nocturnal animals, or have some leisure time to yourself before spending the night at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

Day 4 - Morning Cruise or Jungle Trek

  • Good Morning, sunshine!
  • It's time to take in the crisp morning air by either going for an early morning river cruise along the Kinabatangan River or going for a jungle trek at Oxbow Lake.
  • After a morning of wildlife encounters, it’s time to refuel and recharge with a full-spread breakfast.
  • Free and easy leisure time to yourself until lunch time in the afternoon. Spend your time relaxing by the river or explore the surroundings of the lodge.
  • It’s time to prepare and head out for another river cruise!
  • Dinner is served in the dining hall after your river cruise session
  • Pamper yourself with some leisure time before spending your last night at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5 - Check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge / Gomantong Cave / Sandakan Airport / Kota Kinabalu / Check in to The Magellan Sutera Resort

  • A hearty breakfast will be served to kick start another day!
  • Check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge & take a 30-minute journey to Gomantong Cave.
  • Explore the intricate cave system of Gomantong Caves where it is home to millions of bats and swiflets. If you’re lucky, you may get to witness the birds’ nest harvesting in action!
  • After some time spent at Gomantong, it’s time to feed those rumbling tummies with lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Bid Sandakan farewell & make your way to Sandakan Airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu city. 
  • Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you’ll be transferred to The Magellan Sutera Resort where you will spend the remainder of your time in Sabah recuperating from your Sandakan adventures.

Day 6 - Free & Easy at The Magellan Sutera Resort

  • After exciting times in Sandakan, have yourself some free and easy time at your own pace to recuperate.
  • You may op to have stay more special with an evening rendezvous on board North Borneo Cruises for the best view of Sabah's stunning sunset and Kota Kinabalu Waterfront!

Day 7 - Check out from Magellan Sutera Resort / Depart from Kota Kinabalu

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Baby Car Seats (for infant aged 0-2) and Child Booster Seats (for children aged 3-11) are available for rental. Please check with your tour consultant for availability.
  • For your stay in Sandakan (Day 3 to Day 5):
    • Please ensure you are holding air tickets to Sandakan (round trip).
    • Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, our friendly guide will greet and pick you up from the airport with a placard bearing your good name.
    • Day 5 lunch location may vary depending on your flight time.
    • Recommended flights from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan: Malaysia Airlines MH2042 (ETD 0705Hrs / ETA 0745Hrs).
      Recommended flights from Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu: Air Asia AK6499 (ETD 1820hrs / ETA 1910hrs)
    • The above flight timings are suggestions and subject to changes. Please always check with the airline schedules for the correct flight timings that are most suited to your needs.
  • If you purchase any Island Tours & North Borneo Cruises package with us:
    • Latest Update as of 23 Sep 2020:  We are not accepting passengers who are arriving from Lahad Datu / Tawau / Semporna / Kunak within the last 14 days until further notice. You are also required to declare if you have visited any of the aforementioned places. Please arrange with our sales representative for alternative arrangement.
    • Boat journey to the Island may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases. Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enrol in this activity.
    • While the jellyfish season varies, it usually occurs during mid of the year or/and end of the year. Do be extra careful and inform our guides should you be stung. Rest assured that our guides are first aid trained.
    • Jelly bugs are common in the waters but they are usually harmless and their stings will just cause some slight itch.
    • There are no lockers on the island. Please take good care of your own belongings and do not bring valuables.

  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level.The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.

  • This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle.  Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee.  Please inform us when making the bookings.
  • Your safety is our top priority. Should the weather or sea conditions render it unsafe to proceed for this tour, Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to change or cancel tour. Tour will be refunded accordingly.
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels due to traffic conditions, please reconfirm with our staffs. Should the transport be delayed, please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements.
  • Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation reserved should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.
  • Tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated.

USEFUL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Your belongings may get wet during boat rides. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry!
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to protect your skin.
  • For any Island tour, if there is any extra water sports you opt to add on to your tour (ie banana boat, seawalking, parasailing, etc), be sure to bring along a little bit of extra cash as these activities are not included in our tour package.
