Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Sim Sim Jetty / Abai Jungle Lodge / Kinabatangan River Cruise
08:00 Hrs: Pick-up from Sandakan Airport or your hotel and depart for the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
09:30 Hrs – 09:50 Hrs: Visit the outdoor nursery and witness the orangutan feeding session.
10:30 Hrs: Continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, located nearby, to learn about conservation efforts and observe sun bears in their natural forest environment.
11:15 Hrs: Late morning, depart Sepilok and transfer to Sim Sim Jetty. Board the scheduled boat at 1200hrs and travel upriver to the Kinabatangan region.
13:00 Hrs: Arrive at Abai Jungle Lodge and enjoy lunch at the lodge restaurant. After check-in, take time to rest and enjoy the riverside surroundings.
16:30 Hrs: In the late afternoon, head out on a river cruise along the Kinabatangan River, searching for wildlife such as the Borneo Big Five: Proboscis Monkeys, Borneo Pygmy Elephants, Orangutans, Rhinoceros Hornbills, and Estuarine Crocodiles.
19:30 Hrs: Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a night river cruise to spot nocturnal wildlife and fireflies along the riverbanks.
Overnight stay at Abai Jungle Lodge.
