Sukau Rainforest Lodge, Sandakan

Sukau Rainforest Lodge is an award-winning eco-lodge prioritising conservation, sustainable tourism, and community development. The lodge is designed to safeguard the intricate ecosystem of the surrounding mangrove forest while providing guests with a comfortable and enriching experience. The local community is integral to the lodge's renowned hospitality, with around 80% of the staff from neighbouring villages. The lodge has also been involved in various community and environmental projects since 2000 through its non-profit organisation, the Borneo Eco-tourism Solutions and Technologies BEST Society, which includes providing water tanks to local families and contributing to conservation efforts in the region.
