Day 1 Arrive Kuching / City Tour Arrive Kuching Airport, meet and transfer to your City Hotel Your afternoon city tour pick-up awaits at the hotel lobby, where you will then depart for an exciting Kuching City tour. Cruise on by the many attractions this historical city has to offer, which includes the gigantic cat statue which symbolized the mascot of Kuching City. In the exciting buzz of Chinatown, proceed to the city’s iconic 7-story Pagoda, the Tua Pek Kong Temple, one of the oldest temples in Sarawak. Also, try and spot the Margherita Fort, It’s hard to miss such a stunning view. En route the next destination you will be able to witness traditional Malay houses built on stilts. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for a majestic looking Istana that homed the former palace of White Rajah turned into the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Journey on to more historical sites. For example, the Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of Rajah Brooke. Visit to the Sarawak Museum, the highlight of the tour and is acknowledged as long of the finest museum in Malaysia. Return to hotel. Overnight. 3* Lime Tree Hotel
Day 2 Matang Wildlife Centre / Kubah National Park / Frog Tour Rise and shine and depart to Matang Wildlife Centre. The centre which covers around 180 hectares of lowland forest aims to Educate students on nature studies, cater to Researchers from local and overseas universities, Conserve the endangered species through rehabilitation and Recreational time amidst the rock pools, waterfalls and hiking trails. The Matang Wildlife Centre is part of Kubah National Park, housing endangered wildlife in large enclosed areas of rainforest or spacious cages. Young orang utans, who were either orphaned or rescued from captivity, are taught how to survive in the wild and once ready, they are let free. The centre also houses some Sambar deer, sun bear, civets and some species of endangered birds. Proceed to Kubah National Park, where Kubah’s most prominent feature stands, its palms. Almost a hundred different palm species can be found in an area of just over 22 sq km, making Kubah probably the richest palm habitat for its size anywhere in the world. Check in and settle in at your lodge. A pack lunch will be served shortly before you depart on nature trails with a guide. Get prepared for a special night frog tour! After dinner, get on a trail with an Amphibian Specialist to spot many species of frogs that live in abundance in the park area. Day 3 Nature Trail / Semenggoh Orang Utan / Permai Rainforest Resort (Tree House) Wake up bright and early to go for a morning bird-watching session. Breakfast will be served at the lodge, after bird-watching. The adventure continues as you proceed on a short nature trail with your guide. Return back to your lodge for check out and depart for lunch at a local restaurant. Next up! Semenggoh Orang Utan Centre. The centre is a 740 hectare stretch of virgin forest, home to the humble man of the forest, the “Orang Utan”. Spot Orang Utans and learn how the centre functions as a Rehabilitation Centre. Day 4 Sarawak Cultural Village / Permai Rainforest Resort (Tree House) It’ll be a free and easy morning. With plenty of time for you to stretch out and enjoy the beach. After a local lunch, visit the Sarawak Cultural Village. The Award Winning Village is a unique living museum on a 17 acre site. It has seven representative ethnic houses with natives residing and making handicrafts. Your visit to the Cultural Village will shed light on the colorful traditions of various races in Sarawak. Enjoy a live performance that highlights the many vibrant dances of the people of Sarawak. After a culture-filled night return to Permai Rainforest Resort. Day 5 Bako National Park Hit the road bright and early and depart for a 45 minute drive to Bako Fishing Village. Continue your journey via boat for a 30 minute cruise along the coastal charms to finally reach to Bako. Upon arrival, register and check into basic accommodation. Talk a walk through the park’s information centre where information about the natural history is available. Trek through the mangrove forest to observe the mud skippers and blue-fiddler crabs. Day 6 Bird watching / Nature Trails / Kuching Nature is calling! Proceed for an early morning bird-watch and other wildlife spottings such as monitor lizards, squirrels and other animals around the park area. After, breakfast will be served at your guesthouse. Free and easy before checking out. Depart via boat and savor a last tranquil boat up the river to Bako Jetty. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Transfer to City Hotel for check in.
