CHILD POLICY

• Travelers below 12 years old on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult throughout the vacation.

• It is advisable to book the earliest possible flight and arrive at Tawau Airport in the morning for your land transfer to Semporna Jetty so that you will not miss the last boat to Kapalai Resort at 12:30 Hrs.
• All land & boat transfers are on a sharing basis.
• Unscheduled boat pick up and drop off Kapalai Island should be made at least a day earlier.
• Unscheduled boat transfer is available at MYR 560 Per Way per Boat.

Important Information About Diving in Sipadan

Diving at Sipadan Island requires a permit, which may not be approved on certain days due to a limited quota set by Sabah Parks. Since approvals are issued only a day in advance, we cannot guarantee availability beforehand. However, our resort at Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort will still apply for your entry permit. If a permit becomes available during your stay, we will bring you to Sipadan for a fee. The longer your stay (ideally a minimum of 3 nights or more), the higher your chances of obtaining a permit. Currently, the island limits daily visitors to 252. Please note that due to government conservation efforts, Amazing Borneo and Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort cannot guarantee daily dives at Sipadan. We will, however, do our best to arrange dives for all our guests. Additionally, a minimum diving certification level of Advanced Open Water (AOW) or equivalent is mandatory for diving in Sipadan. Each approved permit allows for two dives. The cost of one permit is MYR 300 per person for Malaysians and MYR 450 per person for international guests, and this fee is NOT included in the package.

What Happens If There Are No Sipadan Permits Available at Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort?

Obtaining Sipadan permits is not guaranteed due to limited availability, especially for last-minute requests. If permits are unavailable during your stay at Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort, the resort management can assist you—upon request—in finding permits from other resorts. Please note that these permits from other resorts will incur an additional charge of MYR 300 per person for Malaysians and MYR 450 per person for international guests. This price is subject to change and will be confirmed upon request at the resort. All permit and boat fees will be payable at the resort according to the current rates.
