Kota Kinabalu/ Beaufort Wetland Reserves/ River Cuise
- Arrival at Kota Kinabalu, the state capital of Sabah, also known as "The Land Below The Wind." Upon arrival, warmest welcome by Amazing Borneo Tours representative and transfer for lunch. After lunch, transfer to Beaufort Wetland Reserve, about 2 hours drive to Southern part of Sabah, passing the beaches, villages, paddy fields and plantations. Checked in and enjoy light refreshment with local cakes upon arrival.
- Late afternoon, start the river cruise down the river and experience the tranquillity of mangrove wetlands which is also home of many species of wildlife. Search for the Proboscis Monkeys, catching glimpses of the Long Tail Macaque, rare Silver Langur and occasionally birds of prey such as Kingfisher, darter and the Crested Serpent eagle or White Bellied Sea eagle. You will be able to differentiate the female and male proboscis monkey by their appearance and behaviour after your Guide’s brief explanation on the habits of these fascinating creatures.
- After the river cruise, dinner will be served by the Jetty. Experience and watch the fireflies lighting up and decorating the mangrove trees by dusk. Depending on weather condition and luck, you might even spot nocturnal animals like the flying fox and night bats. Do bring along binoculars to have a better view of the animals.
- Overnight at the River Lodge.
