This 5-day, 4-night tour package is the perfect tour for travellers looking to experience the best that Sarawak can offer with a fun combination of nature, culture, and tradition in Kuching and Mulu. Mingle with orangutans, learn more about Sarawak's native tribes, and discover the beauty of one of Unesco World Heritage Sites at Mulu—it will be a trip to remember! 

Your tour starts at the City of Cats, Kuching, where the highlight will be the visit to the Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sarawak Cultural Village. At Semenggoh, observe orangutans frolicking in the comfort of an environment that mimics their natural habitat as they are nurtured to health and readapt to jungle life. A trip to Kuching would not be complete without a visit to the award-winning living museum, Sarawak Cultural Village. This is where you will immerse yourself in Sarawak's diverse culture and experience the way of living of the native tribes. 

Before heading to Mulu, you will learn more about some historical facts about the city while enjoying its gorgeous urban aesthetics that embrace modern designs and the city's traditional charms. Get to know more about the city with a trip to some iconic locations, such as the White Cat Statue, Old Court House, Post Office, Square Tower, and Tua Pek Kong Temple. 

In Mulu, indulge in the wondrous nature experience you cannot get anywhere else. Gunung Mulu National Park is home to many caverns with impressive world records, including one of the world's largest cave passages, Deer Cave, and the longest cave system in Southeast Asia, Clearwater Cave. Rich in biodiversity, the national park is home to various species of flora and fauna, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Not only that, but you will also get the chance to meet some of the nomadic Penan tribe and learn more about their lifestyle.

Day 1

Arrival / Kuching City Tour

  • Meet and pick up at Kuching Airport upon arrival before we take you around the city on a guided tour.  
  • We will be making a stop at historical places and interesting spots around the city, including the White Cat Statue, Old Court House, Post Office, Square Tower, and Tua Pek Kong Temple. 
  • In the evening, you will proceed to Kuching Waterfront to enjoy a short boat ride, or “Tambang”, across the river to the restaurant for dinner. 
  • Afterwards, check-in to your hotel for a well-deserved rest before another fun tour in Kuching the next day.

Day 2

Semenggoh Wildlife Centre / Sarawak Cultural Village

  • After having your sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up for a 45-minute journey on land to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. 
  • Upon arrival at the centre, you will head towards the feeding platform using the electric buggy while enjoying the forest view along the way. 
  • After the feeding show, you will head for a 1-hour journey towards the Sarawak Cultural Village.  
  • Upon arrival at the cultural village, you will be served with delicious Sarawak’s Ethnic Lunch at the Cultural Village Café. 
  • Once you are done, the tour around the award-winning living museum starts, where you will be introduced to the local cultures and lifestyles of the 7 main ethnic groups in Sarawak. 
  • After the tour, you will be treated with a fun and entertaining cultural performance at the nearby theater. 
  • Once the performance finishes, you will proceed back to your hotel for free and leisure time.

Day 3

(Flight) Kuching to Mulu / Arrival Mulu / Deer & Lang Caves

  • After breakfast, check out of your accommodation before transferring to Kuching International Airport to catch your flight to Mulu. 
  • At Mulu Airport, you will be heading towards Mulu National Park to check into your accommodation. 
  • Safety briefing will be conducted at 1400hrs before visiting the Mulu Exhibition Centre and the 3km boardwalk trekking towards the entrance of the Deer and Lang Caves. 
  • Once you are done exploring the caves, you will take a rest at the bat exodus platform where you will be treated with an astonishing view of 2 million bats coming out of the cave. 
  • You will head back to the park HQ and your accommodation after the tour ends. You are free to carry out your own leisure activities.

Day 4

Batu Bungan – Penan Settlement / Wind & Clearwater Caves

  • After eating your delicious breakfast at your accommodation, head over to the jetty for a boat ride to Batu Bungan Handicraft Centre where you will pay a visit and get to know the nomadic Penan tribe. 
  • Next, you will be visiting the Wind Cave before proceeding to the Clearwater Cave. 
  • Picnic lunch will be served at the Clearwater Rest Hut where you can enjoy the scenic view of the cave while reenergizing yourself. 
  • After lunch, you will head back to the park HQ and your accommodation. You are free to carry out your own leisure activities.

Day 5

(Flight) Depart from Mulu to Kuching International Airport

Enjoying our 5D4N trips with the tour guide cum photographer En. Shafiee. He brought us to the attractions according to the itinerary, explained the history of the attractions, helped us to take beautiful group photos, recommended us the local restaurants and souvenir shops. Kuching and its surrounding areas have so many to discover, and I think it is one of the underrated tourism places.
