Overview Of Tour

This 3 Days 2 Nights tour brings you around the charming Miri city and the nearby historical Niah Cave for a mix of both urban exploration and nature immersion. It is perfect for travellers looking to know more about Miri and its rich stories. 

In Miri city, you will go on a guided tour to visit its famous places, such as Canada Hill where you can see an astonishing panoramic view of the whole city. Here, you will also visit the several other spots, including Grand Old Lady (Miri’s first drilled oil well) and Miri Petroleum Museum. You will also visit the historical Tua Pek Kong Temple, the oldest temple in Miri and one of the few buildings that survived World War II bombings. Once you are done, you will be visiting local shops for the famous Kuih Lapis Sarawak as well as the local handicrafts. 

The next day, you will be exploring Niah National Park for the world-famous caves. This historical place is well-known for the archaeological sites where the oldest known human remains in Southeast Asia were discovered. Here, you will see the impressive cave formations at the Traders’ Cave and Great Cave, as well as the chance to see bird’s nest collectors do their job. 

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival / Miri City Tour

  • Meet and greet at Miri Airport upon arrival before taking you around the city on a guided tour.  
  • We will be making a stop at historical places and interesting spots around the city, including Canada Hill, Petroleum Museum, Grand Old Lady, Old Chinese Temple (WWII surviving building), local herbs shop, Kek Lapis Sarawak shop, Sarawak handicrafts shop & tamu (local weekly market).  
  • Later, check-in to your hotel for a leisure time and well-deserved rest.

Day 2

Niah National Park

  • Your second day starts now! After having your sumptuous breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and head for a 1 ½-hour journey towards Niah National Park via the Miri-Bintulu Coastal Highway. 
  • On arrival, register at the park counter and visit the Interpretation Center before proceeding to the Pangkalan Lobang Jetty for the boat ride and safety briefing. 
  • You will make a short visit to the Niah Archaeology Museum before starting your 3KM trek towards Niah Caves.  
  • Your first point is the Traders’ Cave where you can explore the stories behind the trading post and the traditional old belief of the locals that live around the area from your guide. 
  • After that, continue your journey to one of the world’s biggest cave mouths, The Great Cave. You will see how the bird’s nest collectors do their job to collect the bird nest with their ancient skills. 
  • Once you are done exploring, return back to the Park HQ and transfer for your late lunch. 
  • After lunch, you will proceed back to your hotel for free and leisure time.
