Hotel Overviews
Bunga Raya Island Resort is a beach resort surrounded by rainforest on Gaya Island, off Kota Kinabalu. Set on Polish Bay, it has a white sandy beach, an infinity pool and 48 timber villas along the shore and hillside.
Built in a traditional Bornean style, the villas range from one-bedroom stays for couples to larger options for families or friends. Every villa has a private outdoor space, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, television, shower, handcrafted toiletries, minibar, in-room safe and Bluetooth speaker. Views, bedding and additional bathroom features vary by category.
Spend the day swimming, snorkelling, kayaking or paddleboarding, or follow one of the island's rainforest trails. Scuba diving and spa treatments are available at an additional cost. The resort has two restaurants and a wine cellar. Daily breakfast, scheduled return boat transfers from Jesselton Point, and use of kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment are included in the stay.

BEACH, POOL AND WATER ACTIVITIES
Take a swim at the beach or relax at the infinity pool overlooking the sea. Complimentary use of kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment is included in the stay. The resort also has a gym and fitness centre.
SCUBA DIVING
The resort has a PADI-certified dive centre for guests who want to explore the waters around Gaya Island. Diving arrangements and charges should be confirmed with the resort.
RAINFOREST TRAILS
Walking trails offer another way to experience Gaya Island beyond the beach. Trail lengths vary, so check with the resort before setting out, particularly for longer walks.
ECHO WELLNESS SPA
Set among the trees and natural boulders, ECHO Wellness Spa offers massages, scrubs and facials using a mix of Asian and Western treatments. Spa treatments are available at an additional cost.
Bunga Raya can arrange weddings, anniversaries, private celebrations and dining experiences. Options include a beachside dining pavilion and The Longhouse Wine Cellar, which has a private room for up to 20 guests. Event arrangements should be confirmed directly with the resort.
THE LONGHOUSE RESTAURANT
|The resort's main dining venue serves local dishes made with local produce alongside Western choices. Its open air setting looks out towards the sea.

A relaxed beachfront restaurant serving grilled seafood and meat dishes.
THE LONGHOUSE WINE CELLAR
An underground wine cellar and lounge suited to an evening drink or private dining. In-villa dining is also available.
Villa check-in is from 15:00 Hrs and check-out is by 11:00 Hrs. Late check-out is subject to availability and an additional charge.
The included scheduled boat departs Jesselton Point at 12:30 Hrs on check-in day and Bunga Raya at 11:00 Hrs on check-out day. Arrive at the resort's reception lounge at Jesselton Point at least 30 minutes before departure. Boat transfers must be booked at least seven days in advance. Transfers at other times require a private boat charter at additional cost.
Tourism tax and the Sabah Parks conservation fee are excluded from the room rate and collected directly by the resort.
