BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE
Nestled in the breathtaking expanse of Sabah's largest protected lowland rainforest, the Borneo Rainforest Lodge stands proudly along the Danum River within the Danum Valley Conservation Area. Spanning 43,800 hectares, this untouched tropical haven in the eastern part of Sabah boasts an abundance of flora and fauna, including over 340 bird species, 124 mammal species, 72 reptile species, 56 amphibian species, and a remarkable 200 plant species per hectare. With only 31 individual chalets, equipped with fans and en-suite bathrooms, the lodge accommodates a maximum of 60 guests on a full-board basis.
LOCATION
Lahad Datu, the nearest town to the Danum Valley Conservation Area, can be reached overland from Sandakan, Tawau, and Kota Kinabalu. MASWing provides daily air access from Kota Kinabalu. The 97 km journey from Lahad Datu to Borneo Rainforest Lodge takes approximately two hours, beginning with a 15 km stretch on a sealed road along the Lahad Datu - Tawau Highway. From the Silam turnoff, a gravel road of about 82 km, lasting two hours, leads to Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
