Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre (Optional) / Sukau Rainforest Lodge / River Cruise
Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, transfer to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Start with a short video on the plight and rehabilitation of orangutans, then walk about 10 minutes on a wooden boardwalk through the rainforest to witness the orangutan feeding at 10:00 Hrs. Continue to the enclosed nursery to observe young orangutans in training.
Optional: Visit the nearby Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre, home to the world’s smallest bear (entry fee payable on the spot). Guests who opt not to visit the Sun Bear Centre may experience a short waiting time (approximately 45 minutes) while others complete their visit.
Afterwards, depart for Sukau Rainforest Lodge, a multi-award-winning eco-lodge along the Kinabatangan River. Choose between a 2.5-hour boat ride or 2-hour overland transfer, depending on your choice of accommodation.
In the afternoon, embark on a river cruise using a hybrid engine boat to search for wildlife and birds. Return for a candlelit dinner by the river, followed by a slide presentation by a naturalist guide. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge (Deluxe Room or Borneo Villa).
Remark: Scheduled Overland Transfer from Sandakan to Sukau: 1330 HRS

Note on Camera Use at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre:
For any camera with zoom lens from 100 to 400mm, video camera or other video recording equipment for personal use are chargeable at RM10.00 per unit. For any camera (fixed-lens - 400mm and above) or any filmmaking equipment are chargeable at RM1,000.00 per unit. Mode of payment is cash only.
Important Notes
- For the comfort and convenience of our guests, it is recommended to travel light by preparing an overnight bag, per person before arriving in Sukau Rainforest Lodge. A complimentary storage is provided for any extra luggage. (For guests departing & returning to Sandakan only)
- Every boat for the river cruises are equipped with outboard engines and electric motor. With its clean and quiet operation, the electric motor will be turned on to maneuver the boat only during wildlife viewing (if location and river current permits). This way, you’ll be able to truly enjoy the wildlife experience without disturbing the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings.
