Tour Overview

Stay at Sepilok Forest Edge Resort, a peaceful eco-lodge nestled at the edge of the rainforest, just minutes from Sandakan’s top wildlife attractions. Surrounded by lush greenery, this charming resort features cosy wooden chalets, an outdoor pool, and a tranquil setting—an ideal base for nature lovers and couples seeking a relaxing escape.

During your stay, visit the renowned Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you can observe semi-wild orangutans in their forest environment. Continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the world’s smallest bear species, followed by a visit to the Rainforest Discovery Centre, famous for its canopy walkways, botanical trails, and birdwatching opportunities.

On the following day, wrap up your journey with a visit to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. Set within a mangrove forest, this sanctuary offers close-up encounters with Borneo’s endemic long-nosed monkeys before your transfer to Sandakan Airport.

Day 1

Sandakan / Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Sepilok Forest Edge Resort

Meet and greet at Sandakan Airport, followed by a comfortable transfer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

Arrive in time for the 10:00 Hrs feeding session and observe semi-wild orangutans in their natural jungle environment from the forest boardwalk and feeding platform. Afterwards, watch an educational video at the Nature Education Centre to learn more about the centre's rehabilitation efforts.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring fresh Sabah flavours.

In the afternoon, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to observe the world’s smallest bear species and learn about ongoing conservation efforts.

Continue to the Rainforest Discovery Centre to explore the canopy walkways, botanical gardens, and enjoy birdwatching opportunities in the surrounding rainforest.
