Day 1

Mount Alab Borneo Jungle Trek with Mahua Waterfall

  • Pick up from your lobby hotel and commence the 1 hour 30 minutes overland drive to MT ALAB CROCKER RANGE SUBSTATION. Please have an early breakfast.
  • Meet the park ranger and guide at the starting point for trekking registration, safety briefing, and Do’s and Don’ts.
  • Start trekking on THE WILDERNESS MININDUK SIRUNG TRAIL. The 12 KM wild trail terrain is muddy and rugged with dead leaves, branches, and tree roots, giving you a carpet or sponge ground feeling while hiking. Trekkers will hike from MOSSY FOREST into TROPICAL FOREST, with a unique photo-worthy bamboo forest between!
  • Upon arrival at the ending point MAHUA WATERFALL CROCKER RANGE SUBSTATION, have a late lunch and enjoy the waterfalls.
  • Report to the substation ranger, check out and depart 2 hours overland back to KK City.
  • Arrive back at the hotel.

  • Lightweight Clothing: Dry-fit T-shirt & Trek Pants
  • Good Hiking / Walking Shoe with good grip ( Tip: Can get rubber shoes called “Adidas Kampung” )
  • Light Jacket / Wind Breaker  – in case you feel cold during trekking
  • Whistle – in case you need immediate attention during emergency.
  • Headlamp – trail is dark when raining or after 1800hrs.
  • Hiking Pole / Stick – Important for balancing support throughout the hikes especially descending.
  • Durable Raincoat/Poncho
  • Leech Socks
  • Water – please bring minimum 2 liters of water for to prevent dehydration, no stopovers to refill water. ( Use hydration salt to prevent muscle cramps )
  • Light Energy Food
  • Small First Aid Kit – Altitude sickness pill * muscle relief * pain killer * personal medication *
  • A Small Towel to wipe off your sweat throughout the trek
  • Waterproof Backpack – if you don’t have, pack everything in double plastic bag. Limit Weight to less than 7 KG
  • Toilet Paper – there are 3 simple toilets along the trail.
  • Set of changing clothes, showering toiletries, slippers and snacks
  • Miniduk Sirung trail is a wilderness trail, stay close with park guide to prevent getting lost
  • The entire trail is 12 KM. Estimated Completion Time: Fast Pace = 7 hours | Standard Pace 9 – 10 hours | Leisure Pace 12 – 14 hours
  • The trail marker is limited ( red paint on trees * white ribbon * plastic ribbon )
  • LEECHES FOUND AROUND ALONG THE TRAIL – Please prepare leech socks 
  • The trail is very slippery especially raining, hike safe!
  • No helipad along the trail, emergency evacuation will take time.
  • Only 2 shelters along the trail. 3 KM & 10 KM mark, raincoat is a MUST!
  • Local mobile reception ( DIGI / MAXIS / CELCOM ) are average line in the trail ( Expect 9 KM & 12 KM )
  • No water tank to refill along the trail, please bring minimum 2 little of water
  • Age range from 12 years old, physically fit and healthy.
  • We strongly recommend trekkers NOT to take returning flight on the SAME DAY. To be safe, allocate (01) more night stay in KK City before departure.
  • It is recommended that all adventurers should have themselves the medically checked before attempting any mountain climb / rock climbing / trekking / cycling / rafting / diving / other outdoor activities. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart disease, severe anemia, Peptic ulcers, Epileptic fits, Obesity (overweight), Chronic asthma, Muscular cramps, Hepatitis (jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the adventurer.
  • Age range from 12 years old, physically fit and healthy.
  • We strongly recommend trekkers NOT to take returning flight on the SAME DAY. To be safe, allocate (01) more night stay in KK City before departure.
  • This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle.  Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee.  Please inform us when making the bookings. 
  • It is recommended that all adventurers should have themselves the medically checked before attempting any mountain climb / rock climbing / trekking / cycling / rafting / diving / other outdoor activities.
