Travellers in Sunny Singapore now have another option to make their way over to the Land Below the Wind with Malindo Air's inaugural Singapore (SIN) - Kota Kinabalu (BKI) direct flight on the 10th of August 2018.

Our staff was one of 65 passengers who flew into Kota Kinabalu International Airport (Terminal 1) at 3.25PM via the OD 831 flight on board a Boeing 737NG aircraft.

OD 830 // BKI - SIN : 0915 to 1140 (GMT+8)

With a growing number visiting Sabah, Malindo Air's new direct flight route will be one of three options, alongside Air Asia and Silk Air, totaling 28 flights per week to Kota Kinabalu. Each flight will be a 2-hour and 30-minute journey.

The OD 831 flight was welcomed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datu Rosmadi Datu Sulai, stating that, "Tourism is a very important industry for Sabah, and we hope that there will be more direct flights to Kota Kinabalu, and even Tawau and Sandakan in the future."

 

Describing Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) as a beautiful destination for both Singaporeans and passengers transiting at Singapore, Malindo Air CEO, Chandran Rama Mutu, stated that they are thrilled to introduce the direct flight from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu.
