In 2011, Lesley Hiew joined Amazing Borneo as an executive: the bottom of the operations ladder, the person who does whatever needs doing. Fifteen years later he is the company's Operations Director.

In 2015, at 25 and with less than two years in the travel industry, Emily Lim was asked to take over Amazing Borneo's entire sales team. The Mount Kinabalu earthquake had closed the mountain, the office was fielding calls from every climber booked onto it, and someone had to hold the commercial side of the company together. She had spent the previous two years building the Singapore sales office. She took the team, steadied it, and has led it ever since.

As a boy at school in Singapore, Kenji Yeo kept having the same conversation. His classmates had no idea where Sabah was or what was in it, despite it being less than three hours away by plane. He decided early that he would do something about that.
