Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Kuching / Market Visit / Telang Usan Hotel / Traditional Sarawak Cooking Class

You will be picked up from your Kuching hotel around 0900hrs and taken to a local market brimming with fresh produce. This is a wonderful introduction to the local fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, and herbs used in Sarawak’s cuisine. Alongside familiar ingredients, you’ll discover many unique forest finds and agricultural goods that may be new to you.

After the market visit, head to Telang Usan Hotel, where a professional chef will guide you through some traditional Sarawakian recipes.

A typical Sarawak meal includes rice with meat or fish and vegetables, and depending on the season and ingredient availability, the chef will select the local delicacies you will prepare.

Watch the chef demonstrate local cooking techniques and listen to detailed explanations, then get hands-on as you try out your own cooking skills. The chef will also offer advice on how to improvise or substitute ingredients if they're not available in your home country.

Once the cooking lesson is complete, enjoy the meal you’ve prepared for lunch!

Transfer back to your Kuching hotel – your tour ends here.
