Named “The Little Kinabatangan” because of the parallel experience it offers, alike to Kinabatangan’s river cruise, minus the hassle of air flights or a 7 hour overland journey. However, there is nothing small about this tour. Little Kinabatangan hosts big wildlife wonders. Immerse in nature’s grandiose splurge of beauty, absorb the sights and sounds of the Borneo jungle from the deck of a traditional style river boat.
Get those binoculars on stand-by and keep your eyes peeled for the stunning primordial cratters and often unique wildlife encounters deep into the narrow rainforest creeks of the Weston River.
This tour grants you the opportunity of experiencing Sabah’s wild-side. Encounter primates such as the Pot-bellied Proboscis Monkey, spot hornbills, flying foxes as well as dashing silver-leaf langurs! Also, witness the magic of Borneo after-dark as you set out once more on a night river-safari offering dazzling firefly sightings & nocturnal wildlife spotting.
01.30pm - Your pick-up awaits you at the Hotel Lobby. You will be whisked to the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu. Snag a window seat and keep your eyes open for sweeping views of quaint villages and lush paddy fields.
04.00pm - Upon arrival at the river jetty, hop on a boat heading towards the river lodge.
04.15pm - You will be greeted with high tea at the river lodge.
04.45pm - The adventure begins! Set out for your River Safari. Be on the look-out for Sabah's endemic Proboscis Monkey - they can be spotted by their pot-bellies and unusual nose! Cruise pass Fisherman Village for a look into their simplistic lifestyle.
Keep your noise down, noses up, and eyes open for more wildlife sightings as you navigate the narrow creeks lined with Nipa palm trees, a native species of palm considered to be the only of its kind.
Get your camera on stand-by because sunset is going to be a marvelous one.
06.30pm - All the excitement must have worked up an appetite. Back to the river lodge for an Asian Buffet Dinner.
07.30pm - Set out for your final river cruise, this time under the starry sky. Nocturnal creatures galore when night creeps in, but you know what else? Fireflies! Witness Mother Nature at her most glamorous as your cruise pass swarms of Fireflies fluttering along the river banks.
08.00pm - Journey back to the river lodge.
10.00pm - Drop off at your Kota Kinabalu City Hotel.
