Located 1,585 metres above sea level, Kinabalu Park is located in Kundasang, in the district of Ranau. As Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kinabalu Park features a complete ecological system that is unlike anything else in the world. Surrounded by the misty cool air of the highland, Kinabalu Park covers an area of about 754 sq km with altitude ranging from 600 metres up to the summit of Mount Kinabalu at 4,095.2 metres. Popular for its natural beauty, the park promises to enchant visitors with its rich flora and fauna. It carries lowland, mountain and alpine vegetation diversity on a scale that is not seen elsewhere between the Himalayas and the New Guinea.
