• Kindly note that this is NOT a luxury beach resort.  Accommodation provided is extremely simple with the most basic facilities only.  You are recommended to bring your own toilet amenities for a more comfortable stay.  
• Kindly note that you are responsible for the safe keeping of your belongings at all time. We do not encourage guests bringing along electronic devices, valuables and important documents.
• Day dives and package dives are not transferable.
• On Day Two of the tour, Diver Package and Discover Scuba Diver Package only have one session of diving activity in the morning. You are allowed to join-in with the snorkeling group for the second session of snorkeling before departing Mantanani Island.
• For Diving or Discover Scuba Diving Package, should you not wish or not be able to dive on that day itself, you are allowed to change to Snorkeling Package, but no refund will be given.
• Should you wish to purchase additional dives outside of the package, you are allowed to do so. All payments will be made direct to the Dive Lodge at Mantanani Island.
• Participant must be physically fit as this is an adventure tour.
• The boat journey to Mantanani Island may not be suitable for pregnant women as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition.
• You might get WET during the boat journey, so please be sure to pack and stow your belongings properly during the journey. Dry bags or plastic bags for waterproofing are recommended.
• We do not encourage you to book your flight on the day you depart Mantanani Island back to Kota Kinabalu. This is due to unpredictable sea and weather conditions that may result in cancellation of boat out from Mantanani Island to the mainland. Amazing Borneo Tours and the Resort management will not be held liable for your missed flight. However, your additional night stay and food will be provided for by the resort. Please see terms & conditions.

• Due to the nature and adventurous nature of the tour, children under 5 years old are not encouraged to participate in the tours.
• Any Children who are certified divers will have to pay FULL DIVER rates regardless of their age & parents will have to be held responsible for their child at all times.
• Please check with us if you have any special dietary request, e.g. vegetarian. We however do not guarantee that we will be able to meet all requests.

• All reservation MUST provide the following information for security reasons: Name as per passport, Passport Number, Nationality, Gender.
• Weather conditions: We cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season.
• For safety reasons, tour and activities are dependent on SEA & WEATHER CONDITIONS. We reserve the rights to CANCEL or POSTPONE the tour or any activities if we deem there is an absence of a safe operating environment. We monitor closely weather changes through the relevant sources.
• Full refund will be given if we cancel the tour due to bad sea & weather conditions.
• In the event if we encounter bad weather condition or unforeseen circumstances which render cancellation of last boat transfer out of the island for safety reasons; all relevant food and lodging costs for the overnight stay will be arranged and paid for by the resort in lieu of the cost staying in Mantanani. There will be no further claims or refunds for such incidental circumstances.
• Liability Release Form MUST be understood and signed by the participant before the tour commences.
• After commencement of service, should the journey be cancelled due to force majeure (such as weather and sea conditions, or circumstances due to war, politics, etc) or should the trip not proceed as normal due to unexpected events, resulting in changes to locations, reduced activity, etc., as such please understand that no refund, in part or full will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilized.

LIABILITY/RELEASE FORM (WAIVER)

All guests will be required to sign a Liability/Release Form (Waiver) before or upon arrival and abide by all diving and safety rules of the dive lodge.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

Bembaran operates diving all year round but we cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season.

DIVER TRAINING

All divers will be required to show proof of diver training from an internationally recognized Diver Training Agency upon arrival or they will not be allowed to dive without taking a dive course. The dive lodge also reserves the right to require a Scuba Skills Refresher Course for any diver who cannot provide proof of diving in the last 12 months and/or exhibits uncertainty in their skills. Logbooks are highly recommended.

DIVING & SNORKELLING SCHEDULES AND REGULATIONS

• Boat Dives

  There are two (2) scheduled boat dives a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is a combination dive at nearby dive sites. Each boat goes out with a boatman and Divemaster. All dive sites and dive schedules will be arranged at the discretion of the dive lodge Management. Our dive boats will depart to the dive sites every morning at 10.45 am to 12.00 pm and return to dive lodge. Divers will return to the dive lodge for their meals after every dive. The number of dive is limited to avoid overcrowding; therefore, visits must be arranged well in advance.

• Boat Snorkel

  There are two (2) scheduled boat snorkel a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

• Unlimited Beach Dives

  Besides the two (2) boat dives, unlimited beach dives may be carried out daily on the lodges beach front. These beach dives can start before your morning boat dive. Your last beach dive has to be planned in such a way as to exit the water by 10.00 p.m. (See also Night Diving section below). For beach dive, you are required to dive with a buddy and sign out with our personnel on duty. NO DIVE MASTERS WILL ACCOMPANY JETTY DIVES, unless prior arrangements are made.

• Buddy System and Depth Limitations

  As per most Training Agency's teachings, all dives must be with a buddy; no solo diving is allowed. Depth on any dive shall be limited to a maximum of 130 feet (40 meters), of course taking into account any residual nitrogen time already acquired.

• Surface Intervals

  For safety measures, a mandatory minimum 60 minutes surface interval is required before the next consecutive dive, regardless of whether you are diving by a computer or by tables.

• Night Diving

  To Night Dive, divers must show proof of night diving in the form of certification cards or logbooks documenting such dives. If no proof is available, divers who wish to night dive will be required to take an introduction OR certification course in night diving at an additional cost. Night Divers must exit the water by 10.00 p.m. (2200 hrs). The boat leaves for night dive at around 6.00 - 6.30 p.m. and dinner will be served after the dive. Night dives can be scheduled whenever a diver wants to do one the following evening at extra charge. Rates for night diving with boat is MYR 270 per dive/per boat from 1-2 Divers and if there are 3 divers and above the rate is MYR 100 per diver/per dive. This will be charged locally.

SPECIAL RULES FOR PROTECTING TURTLES

Divers and snorkelers are to refrain from touching, teasing and restraining turtles under water because turtles are air breathers and can be drowned if panicked or cornered. Anyone riding or restraining turtles will sit out the next dive.

FLYING AFTER DIVING (LAST DAY AT DIVE LODGE)

The latest recommendation from DAN, Training Agencies etc., indicates that you should wait a minimum of 12 hours and sometimes up to 24 hours after diving before you fly. However, MP recognizes that people, agencies, and even computers and tables differ on this. If you choose to dive on the day you leave and fly, you will be required to sign a separate Liability/Release Form (Waiver) to do this. You will only be able to do one morning dive; however, this is at the discretion of the dive lodge Management.
