Mabul Island: Sipadan Water Village Resort

HOW TO GET HERE

1. Take a short 45 minutes domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau.
2. Meet at Tawau Airport and transferred to Semporna Jetty (Harbor) by van.
   • Journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 min drive.
3. Transfer to Mabul Resort by speedboat.
   • Boat ride takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes depending on sea and weather condition.

TYPES OF ROOMS & RESORT LAYOUT

• The architectural design of the 45 water chalets reflects the incluence of the local Bajau style. The resort is located on a part of the island where it is sheltered from the storm. The floor of the water cottages is less than 1 meter above the high water mark. The chalets are spacious with wide sliding doors that open onto the room's private deck.

Housekeeping 

• Housekeeping service is conducted once daily.
• Towels are provided in the bathroom for guest personal use in their respective cottage.
• For scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and other recreational activities, coloured towels are available at the Diving Centre and Reception at no additional charge.
• Small coloured towels are also provided in respective rooms for camera/video cleaning. 

• Please take note that it would not be possible for us to do the transfer directly to the resort on the same day if the arrival is late as it would be dark for the boat transfer and is not advisable for safety reason. Please advice to take flight before or at 1400hrs arrival at Tawau Airport for direct transfer to Sipadan Water Village Resort, Mabul.
• Night transfer charges will apply after 1800hrs for the transfer from Tawau Airport to any respective hotel (either in Tawau or Semporna Hotel).
• Catching the earliest departure flight from Tawau Airport would also not be possible as the departure from the resort will have to be extremely early and it would be dark and hence not advisable for safety reasons.
• Amazing Borneo and Sipadan Water Village Resort will not obligate or compensate for waiting too long in the airport or flight delay. However, we will assist the guests should they require any assistance from us.

To help preserve Sipadan’s world-famous marine ecosystem, the island observes its annual conservation break from 1–30 November each year for a period of natural recuperation.

During this time, diving activities at Sipadan will be paused, but the surrounding island resorts remain fully open — guests can still enjoy beautiful dive sites and island excursions in Tun Sakaran Marine Park.

Diving at Sipadan Island will resume on 1 December.

• All reservation MUST provide the following information at least 30 days before the trip dates: Name as per passport, NRIC (for Malaysians), Passport Number, Nationality, Date of Birth, Gender, Contact Number & Flight details
• Package Excludes: Diving equipments & gears, beverages, laundry, room service, airfares and item not mentioned or specified in the packages
• Extension Stay: Extension Night Stay is permitted subject to the accommodation availability
• Boat journey to the Island may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases. Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enrol in this activity.
• If full payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled and full deposit will be retained by the Resort. 
• The resort accepts notes like USD, YEN and EURO. Please take note all notes have to be in good condition. If there is any damages or grafitti on the notes, they will not be accepted.
• After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilized
• In case of cancellation, any payment made would not be refundable but is transferrable to other dates within a year from the cancellation with written email. All items in the package are non-refundable or transferable.
• Weather conditions: We cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season
• Guest is required to go for medical check to ensure your health is in good condition.
• We strongly recommend that all guests take up adequate travel insurance that covers accident, loss caused by cancellations, loss of baggage, personal property, medical expenses, medical evacuation and weather disruption that caused any acitivity cancellations. Guests intending on participating in diving activities must ensure their insurance covers them for SCUBA related activities and has appropriate 'depth' coverage.
• Please check you have the required travel documents before booking your dive trip. Ensure that your passport has at least 6 months validity from your time of entry into Malaysia.
• Last but not least, tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated.
