Day 1 - SANDAKAN AIRPORT OR HOTEL / BORNEO NATURAL SUKAU BILIT RESORT / RIVER CRUISE ADVENTURE / NIGHT WALK

  • Pick up from Sandakan Airport and transferred to Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.
  • Check-in and set down your belongings in your humble abode for the next few days.
  • Head on your first River Cruise adventure along the mighty Kinabatangan River.
  • Feast on a sumptuous dinner served at the resort.
  • Put your trekking shoes on and head out for a Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.
  • Tuck yourself in and get some shut-eye at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.

Day 2 - MORNING RIVER CRUISE / JUNGLE WALK / EVENING RIVER CRUISE / NIGHT WALK

  • Awake to a cool breeze of the morning air and get ready for your Morning River Cruise!
  • Greet the wildlife of the Kinabatangan River in the early hours of the AM and observe as they carry out their morning routines.
  • Head back to the resort for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, head out for a jungle walk to witness and observe more wildlife.
  • Grab yourself some lunch at the resort.
  • It’s your last chance to snap those Kinabatangan River shots for this will be your final river cruise on this trip!
  • The feasting continues over a sumptuous dinner spread!
  • Head out for another night walk before spending the night at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.

Day 3 - BORNEO NATURAL SUKAU BILIT RESORT / GOMANTONG CAVE / DANUM VALLEY FIELD CENTRE / JUNGLE WALK / NIGHT DRIVE

  • Grab some breakfast and pack up your belongings.
  • Check out of Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort and bid the new friends you’ve made there farewell.
  • Onwards to Gomantong Cave where you’ll get to feast your eyes on the grand spectacle of the largest limestone outcrop along the lower end of the Kinabatangan River where millions of bats and swiftlets call it home.
  • After your cave explorations, you’ll be transferred to Danum Valley Field Centre while grabbing lunch along the way.
  • Upon arrival, you will be greeted by friendly staff and check in to your accommodation for the rest of the trip.
  • Head out on a jungle walk to encounter Wildlife and discover a variety of up to 200 species of Plants.
  • Grab yourself some dinner.
  • Take a seat in an open top vehicle for a Night Driver to observe night critters.
  • Lights off and rest time with an overnight stay at Danum Valley Field Centre.

Day 4 - TEMBALING WATERFALL / DIP IN THE STREAM / NIGHT TREK

  • Breakfast is served at the Resthouse Dining Hall to fuel up for the day!
  • Packed lunch will be provided for you to take with you on your trek to Tembaling Waterfall to marvel at jaw-dropping surroundings in one of the world’s oldest rainforest.
  • After working up an appetite on the trail, have yourself some lunch and take a refreshing dip in a cool and unpolluted stream.
  • Return to Danum Valley Field Centre for some free and easy time to yourself.
  • Head over to the Resthouse Dining Hall and enjoy a hearty dinner.
  • Trekking shoes on again for another adventure into the night for opportunities to spot more nocturnal animals.
  • Head back to Danum Valley Field Centre for some much-needed rest.

Day 5 - BUKIT ATUR SUNRISE / LAHAD DATU

  • The early bird gets the worm! Rise and shine to catch a stellar sunrise over at Bukit Atur!
  • Upon arrival at the peak of Bukit Atur, watch as the sun rises and cast its rays over endless mountainous valleys.
  • Return to Danum Valley Field Centre and grab yourself your last meal at the Resthouse Dining Hall.
  • Pack up your belongings and check out of your accommodation.
  • Bid Danum Valley and you Borneo adventures goodbye with fond memories as your journey to Lahad Datu Airport for home or Lahad Datu town for your next adventure!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Please ensure you are holding air ticket to Sandakan.
  • Scheduled pick up transfers to the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort are arranged at the following times and locations daily: 
    • 1145hrs @ Hotel Sandakan (Main Entrance)
    • 1200hrs @ Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan (Main Entrance)
  • For Danum Valley Field Center, 
    • Cell phone coverage is available. However, it can sometimes be disrupted due to rain downpour and satellite malfunction.
    • DVFC electricity is powered by Generators. The generators will cease at 00:00 – 07:00 hours. You may need to prepare a torchlight.
  • Standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels & resorts are 1400 Hrs & 1200 Hrs. However, check-in & check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in & check-out times of your accommodation.
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.

Make sure you always have enough dry bags and think about ways of keeping your equipment dry as the rainforest can be quite unpredictable and wet items will be extremely hard to dry or air out.
