This 7 Days 6 Nights tour will show you all the best of Sarawak and Brunei. From the rich cultures and history to the fantastic architecture and wonderous wildlife, both places offer travellers a fascinating glimpse of the island of Borneo and all of its charms.
You will start the tour at Miri, where you will learn more about the city and its history of oil drilling before journeying to Brunei and getting to know the stunning mosques and elegant buildings, such as the Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque.
During your nature immersion at Mulu National Park, you will get the chance to see unique geological formations at the show caves as you are surrounded by the beauty of the spectacular rainforest. For an interesting touch of culture, you will also meet with the nomadic indigenous people of the Penan tribe. To round off your trip, you will fly to Kuching, where a fun mix of wildlife and local tradition is waiting for you at the Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sarawak Cultural Village.
One of the things you can do in Miri is explore some of its most well-known locations, including Canada Hill for its breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. You can also go to the nearby Miri Petroleum Museum to learn more about oil drilling, as well as the Grand Old Lady, the city's first oil well. You will pay a visit at the historic Tua Pek Kong Temple, Miri's oldest temple and one of the city's few structures to have survived bombardment during World War II.
To conclude your day's excursion to Miri, you will visit the local shops where you can buy souvenirs to take home. We recommend buying Kek Lapis Sarawak and local handicrafts.
You will be given a wonderful tour of Brunei that will take your breath away as you witness its stunning mosques, lavish homes, and other fascinating sights. You will see the Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, a marvel of Islamic architecture with four minarets and 29 golden domes. The mosque, which can accommodate up to 5,000 worshipers at a time, is the biggest in Brunei. Another mosque that you will visit is the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque. It is one of the country’s largest and oldest mosques, as well as one of the most stunning in Asia Pacific.
The next stop on your trip is the Royal Regalia Museum, where you can view exhibits for the Silver Jubilee and the coronation of Brunei’s current ruler, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. After that, you will explore Kampung Ayer, also referred to as the "Venice of the East," which is the world's largest settlement on stilts and home to more than 30,000 people.
A trip to Brunei is only complete with a visit to the Istana Nurul Iman, the biggest residential palace in the entire world. The building, whose name translates to "Palace of the Light of Faith," has 1,788 rooms, including a banquet hall that can hold 5,000 guests and a mosque that can hold 1,500 worshipers. The tour ends with stops at Jerudong Park, one of Southeast Asia's biggest and most expensive theme parks.
As you travel to Mulu, you will experience the breathtaking beauty of its lush nature and unforgettable adventure across the unique geological formations. Numerous caverns in Gunung Mulu National Park hold impressive world records, including the longest cave in Southeast Asia (Clearwater Cave) and one of the largest cave passages in the entire world (Deer Cave).
If you are a nature lover, the nature park is a wonderful place to visit, thanks to the lush rainforest and teeming biodiversity. Here, you will also have the chance to learn more about the nomadic Penan tribe and their way of life before the end of the tour.
A beautiful urban aesthetic that embraces both modern designs and the city's traditional charms can be found in City of Cats, Kuching. Learn more about the city and its history at several iconic landmarks, including the White Cat Statue, Old Court House, Post Office, Square Tower, and Tua Pek Kong Temple—remember to take that Instaworthy photos while you are here!
You'll also pay a visit to the Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, where you can see orangutans enjoying themselves in a setting that closely resembles their natural habitat as they are nurtured to health and readapt to jungle life. Then, to round out your trip to Kuching, we will take you to the acclaimed living museum known as Sarawak Cultural Village. You can fully experience Sarawak's rich cultural diversity and the native tribes' way of life here.
