• Cell phone coverage is available. However, it can sometimes be disrupted due to rain downpour and satellite malfunction.
• DVFC electricity is powered by Generators. The generators will cease at 00:00 – 07:00 hours. You may need to prepare a torchlight.
• Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.

• This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle. Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee. Please inform us when making the bookings.

• CONDITION FOR DIVING
  • LIABILITY/RELEASE FORM (WAIVER)
    • All guests will be required to sign a Liability/Release Form (Waiver) before or upon arrival and abide by all diving and safety rules of the resort.
  • WEATHER CONDITIONS
    • The resort operates diving all year round but the weather conditions are unpredictable these days for scuba diving even for the best season.
  • DIVER TRAINING
    • All divers will be required to show proof of diver training from an internationally recognized Diver Training Agency upon arrival or they will not be allowed to dive without taking a dive course. 
    • SMART also reserves the right to require a Scuba Skills Refresher Course for any diver who cannot provide proof of diving in the last 12 months and/or exhibits uncertainty in their skills. Logbooks are highly recommended.

• For Day 1 – 3 tour in Danum Valley, make sure you always have dry bags and think about ways of keeping your equipment dry as the rainforest can be quite unpredictable and wet items will be extremely hard to dry or air out.
• For Day 3 – 6 island tour, your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry! Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to protect your skin.
