Day 1 - Sandakan / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, we'll whisk you to the remarkable Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Here, you'll delve into the plight of these fascinating creatures through an informative video presentation, followed by a mesmerizing walk through the rainforest to witness the orangutans' feeding at 10:00hrs. Experience the heartwarming scenes at the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orangutans.

Then, journey to the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation efforts for the world's smallest bear.

Following this, embark on an approximately 2-hour overland journey to the renowned Sukau Rainforest Lodge, renowned for its multiple awards.

Dive into an afternoon river cruise, navigating through the waterways in search of wildlife and birds, with the boat equipped with a hybrid system of outboard and electric motors.

Enjoy a candlelit dinner overlooking the riverbank, followed by an engaging slide presentation and interpretation by our knowledgeable naturalist guide.

Spend the night at Sukau Rainforest Lodge in either a Superior Room or Borneo Villa.

Day 2 - Kinabatangan River / Hornbill Boardwalk / Orang Utan Talk / River Cruise

Rise early for a morning river cruise along the Kinabatangan River at 06:00hrs, heading to Kelenanap oxbow lake for a chance to spot diverse birds and wildlife.

After breakfast, join our in-house naturalist for an educational tour along the lodge's Hornbill Boardwalk.

Later, participate in our Orang Utan Talk activity before lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on another river cruise to encounter more of the region's abundant wildlife.

Retreat for the night at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 3 - Return to Sandakan / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Sepilok Nature Lodge

After breakfast, embark on a boat or overland journey back to Sandakan.

Enjoy lunch before visiting the Rainforest Discovery Centre – where you'll enjoy a bird's-eye view from the canopy walk and hanging bridge – and explore the botanical garden showcasing diverse flora species.

Later, transfer to Sepilok Nature Lodge or similar accommodation. Check-in and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 4 - Sandakan PSR Jetty / Lankayan Island Dive Resort

Check out from Sepilok Nature Lodge and transfer to Sandakan PSR Jetty via a scenic 30-minute drive.

Continue your journey to Lankayan Island by speedboat, offering breathtaking ocean views over approximately 90 minutes.

Check-in at Lankayan Island Dive Resort and savour the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 5 - Lankayan Island Dive Resort

The day is yours! Enjoy the day at leisure, unwinding amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Lankayan Island.

Day 6 - Check Out / Sandakan Airport

After breakfast, bid farewell to Lankayan Island as you check out and board a boat transfer to the jetty.

From there, continue with an overland transfer to Sandakan Airport, marking the end of your memorable adventure.

Please bring your own refillable water bottle, as Sukau Rainforest Lodge is moving towards a single-use plastic-free environment! The vans and coaches are prepared with water containers so that you can refill your bottle anytime throughout the tour.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Please ensure you are holding an air ticket to Sandakan.
If you are arriving at Sandakan Airport on the day of your tour, our friendly guide will greet you and pick you up from the airport with a placard bearing your good name.
Day 3 lunch location may vary depending on your flight time.
The standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels & resorts are 1400 Hrs & 1200 Hrs. However, check-in & check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in & check-out times for your accommodation.
Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTx). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Extension Stay: Extension Night Stay at Lankayan Dive Resort is permitted subject to the accommodation availability.
Full payment is required 30 days before the commencement of services. If full payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled, and the full deposit will be retained by the resort.
After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilised
Infants, pregnant women and senior citizens (above 80 years old) are not allowed by boat to Lankayan Dive Resort.
Amazing Borneo and Lankayan Dive Resort will not be held liable for any delay, additional expenses or inconvenience which may be caused directly or indirectly by events outside of the company's control, such as late arrival of domestic or international flights, civil disturbances, fire, floods, unusually severe weather, act of God, act of Government, or the failure of any machinery or equipment and property whilst staying at the resort, during participation of any activity. The resort withholds the right to change the planned itinerary, leave for the jetty early or change the schedule.
Amazing Borneo and Lankayan Dive Resort will not be held responsible, or in any way liable, for property losses, personal losses, accidents, injuries, or deaths for any reason whatsoever, whether through any activities booked through us or caused to you by third parties. All guests will be required to read and sign the company Standard Liability Form and other related forms at the resort upon arrival and check-in.
