Sample itinerary

Day 1 - SANDAKAN AIRPORT OR HOTEL / SEPILOK ORANG UTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE / BORNEAN SUN BEAR CONSERVATION CENTRE / BILIT RAINFOREST LODGE / RIVER CRUISES

  • Pick up from your hotel lobby or Sandakan airport.
  • Take a drive over to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre at the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve.
  • Upon arrival, you will be briefed with information on the rehabilitation of an orphaned Orang Utan before entering the Centre.
  • Enjoy and encounter Orang Utans frolicking in their natural habitat up close, and witness Orang Utan feeding on a feeding platform.
  • After enjoying some time with the Orang Utans, you will proceed to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.
  • Sun Bear is the smallest bear in the world where their height of adult is around 120cm to 150cm (while standing); weight around 27kg to 65kg. You can easily spot white or yellowish crescent marking on its chests.
  • After spending some time with Sun Bear, you’ll take a 2-hour journey over to Bilit Jetty.
  • Upon arrival at the jetty, you will hop on a boat ride to Bilit Rainforest Lodge.
  • Have yourself a refreshing welcome drink as you check-in.
  • After settling in, it’s time for your first river cruise along the Kinabatangan River!
  • Head back to the lodge for dinner.
  • Once dinner is done, hop on a boat again for your night river cruise where you'll get a chance to spot nocturnal wildlife.
  • It’s been a full day of activities, time to get some rest with an overnight stay at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

Day 2 - MORNING RIVER CRUISE / EXPLORE WONDER OF WILDLIFE / EVENING RIVER CRUISE

  • Awake to the crisp morning ambience and make your way out for a morning river cruise to witness animals in the early AM.
  • After working up an appetite, head on over to the dining area for a warm breakfast.
  • Free and easy time to yourself to explore your surroundings.
  • Lunchtime!
  • After lunch, it’s time to head out for another river cruise!
  • Head back to the lodge for dinner.
  • It’s time to hit the hay and have a good night’s rest at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

Day 3 - BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE / TREETOP CANOPY WALK / NIGHT DRIVE

  • After breakfast, check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge and onwards to Danum Valley’s Borneo Rainforest Lodge while grabbing lunch on the way.
  • Check in to Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
  • After you've settled, you'll head out for an afternoon trek to a treetop "Canopy Walkway". It is 300 metres in length and towers up to 26 meters high where you are at a vantage point for a close-up observation of the rainforest.
  • Head back to the lodge for dinner.
  • Out you go for a Night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal dwellers of Danum Valley.
  • At the end of a long day of travels and adventures, it’s time to rest up with an overnight stay at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 4 - MORNING JUNGLE TREK TO KADAZANDUSUN BURIAL SITE - COFFIN CLIFF / JACUZZI POOL DIP / TUBING IN DANUM RIVER / NIGHT WALK

  • Good morning! Grab yourself a sumptuous morning meal.
  • After breakfast, head out on your morning walk onwards to a Kadazandusun burial site “Coffin Cliff” and descend to the Jacuzzi Pool for a refreshing morning dip.
  • Head back to lodge for lunch.
  • Get ready, it’s time to go “Tubing” down the Danum River!
  • After good times in the river, have a feast for dinner.
  • Head out on foot for your Night Walk in search of nocturnal Bornean wildlife.
  • After your walk, head back to the lodge and get a good night’s rest at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5 - BORNEO RAINFOREST LODGE / LAHAD DATU

  • It’s your last day with us! So, waste no time and awake bright and early for breakfast.
  • Spend some time taking a relaxing time and exploring its surroundings of the lodges.
  • Head back to the lodge for lunch if you are scheduled to transfer out by 1.30pm.
  • Check out of Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
  • It’s been a fantastic 5 days but it’s time to bid great times goodbye as you are transferred to Lahad Datu Airport after lunch.
  • Depart Lahad Datu Airport for home or onwards to your next adventure!
