Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Kota Kinabalu / North Borneo Sunset Dinner Cruise

Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to The Magellan Sutera Resort for check-in. Take some time to settle in and enjoy the resort surroundings or explore the nearby waterfront at your own pace.

In the late afternoon, make your way to Sutera Marina Jetty for the North Borneo Sunset Dinner Cruise. As the vessel sails along the coastline, take in panoramic views of the South China Sea, nearby islands, and traditional water villages. The golden hues of the sunset, gentle sea breeze, and live music create a relaxed and memorable start to your journey. Enjoy a buffet dinner onboard before returning to the resort for the night.

Day 2 - Nabalu Town / Desa Cow Farm / Alpaca Club / Kinabalu National Park Entrance / Kota Kinabalu City Tour / Seafood Dinner

After breakfast, depart Kota Kinabalu and journey towards the cool highlands of Kundasang. Along the way, stop at Nabalu Market, where you can browse local handicrafts and take in sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.

Continue to Desa Cow Farm, often referred to as “Little New Zealand”, where rolling green pastures and grazing cattle set the scene for scenic photos. Enjoy fresh dairy products such as milk or gelato while soaking in the peaceful highland atmosphere.

Next, visit the Alpaca Club, home to Sabah’s only alpacas. Get up close to these gentle animals and enjoy a unique and interactive experience.

After lunch, make a short stop at Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cool climate and lush surroundings. Before returning to the city, enjoy a brief city tour with stops at cultural and architectural landmarks, including the Sabah Museum and the Sabah City Mosque. End the day with a seafood dinner before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3 - Check Out / Kota Belud / Mantanani Island

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey to Kota Belud, passing through scenic countryside landscapes along the way. Upon arrival at the jetty, receive a short briefing before boarding your boat transfer to Mantanani Island.

As you approach the island, clear turquoise waters and white sandy shores come into view. Upon arrival, check in and settle into your resort.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Take a stroll along the beach, relax by the shore, or participate in optional activities such as snorkelling or kayaking. In the evening, enjoy a guided sunset walk to one of the island’s best viewpoints, where the sky transforms into shades of orange and gold.

After dinner, head to the beach for a Blue Tears excursion (seasonal). Watch as the shoreline glows with bioluminescent plankton, creating a magical and unforgettable experience. Return to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Check Out / Kota Belud / The Pacific Sutera

Wake up to the sound of the ocean and enjoy breakfast at the resort. Spend the morning at leisure, or join a guided snorkelling session to explore the vibrant marine life beneath the clear waters.

After checking out, return by boat to the mainland and transfer back to Kota Kinabalu. Check in to The Pacific Sutera Hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Relax by the pool, explore the resort facilities, or unwind after your island experience. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 5 - Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel. At the designated time, transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your departure flight, bringing your Sabah getaway to a close.

  • This tour involves light to moderate activity, including walking at highland attractions, cultural sites, and beach areas. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
  • Some activities, such as snorkelling and boat transfers, require basic mobility and comfort in outdoor environments.
  • Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended.
