Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Tawau Airport / Transfer to Semporna / Check In

Your island adventure begins as soon as you land at Tawau Airport. A direct transfer brings you to Semporna on a scenic journey that takes about an hour.

Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and unwind for the rest of the day. Take this time to soak in the laid-back atmosphere and get ready for the exciting adventures that await tomorrow!

Day 2 - Bohey Dulang Hike / Sibuan and Mantabuan Islands Explorer

Your adventure kicks off at Semporna Jetty. A 30-minute speedboat ride take you to Bohey Dulang Island, where a rewarding 353-meter hike awaits. Conquer the peak and be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of neighbouring islands surrounded by turquoise water.

After conquering the summit, fuel up with a packed lunch before diving back into the action. 

Next stop: Mantabuan Island! Here, crystal-clear waters beckon, offering the chance to encounter majestic manta rays, playful devil rays, graceful eagle rays, and even passing sea turtles.

A short hop away lies Sibuan Island, perfect for unwinding on pristine sands or enjoying some light shore snorkeling. Your guide can also arrange a visit to a nearby Bajau Laut village, where fishermen might sell refreshing coconut juice.

By the end of the day, head back to Semporna town for a well-deserved rest.

Day 3 - Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort

Good morning! Head to Semporna Private Jetty for your boat transfer to Kapalai Island. Upon arrival, a seamless check-in awaits at the world-famous Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort. 

This diver's paradise boasts some of the planet's most vibrant marine life with its Maldives-esque turquoise waters. Explore the underwater wonders through snorkelling or glass-bottom kayaking, where colourful fish, coral formations, and other marine marvels come into close view.

From breakfast to dinner, tantalize your taste buds with a delectable buffet spread featuring both local and international fare.

Day 4 - Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort / Mabul Island / Kapalai Island

Rise and shine! Head to the resort's restaurant for a hearty breakfast before readying yourself for a fun day at the islands. 

The first stop is Mabul Island. Jump right in for a refreshing snorkel in its crystal-clear waters teeming with life. 

Enjoy your packed lunch at noon before returning to Kapalai Island, where the stunning surroundings and clear waters invite another snorkeling adventure.

Day 5 - Semporna / Tawau Airport / Departure or Extend Tour

Enjoy your final breakfast at the resort before checking out of Sipadan Kapalai and take a boat back to Semporna. 

From there, a transfer will take you to Tawau Airport for your flight home, or you can consider extending your Sabah adventure!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • For Bohey Dulang Hike:
    • Kindly prepare RM50 in cash to cover the Ranger Fee at Bohey Dulang. This fee applies to groups of 1-6 pax. 
    • Sneakers or hiking boots are COMPULSORY for hiking. Sandals, flip-flops, and croc slippers are strictly not allowed. Sabah Parks has the right to ban hikers with improper shoewear. 
    • The shoe rental kiosk is no longer operating, so please remember to bring your own shoes.
    • In case of rain and the cancellation of the Bohey Dulang hiking, we will swap the activity to a snorkeling session.
    • Due to the limited number of rangers available, the waiting time can be 1-2 hours, depending on the time it took for the other groups to return to the foothill.
    • Children below 6 years old are not allowed to join the hiking activity.
    • Please be ready at the boat departure point at 08:00 Hrs. 
  • Please note that the chalets at Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort are a mixture of air-conditioned and fan-only rooms and are assigned on a run-of-house basis (first come, first served) by the resort.
  • Boat journey to the Island(s) may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases.   
  • Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enroll in this activity.  
  • Please do not bring valuables, as there are no lockers on the islands.  
  • Be a responsible snorkeler to protect our marine ecosystem.  
    • If we deem your snorkeling skills or attitude may bring harm to the marine life or other guests, the crew has the right to stop you from participating in this activity.  
    • It is strictly prohibited to remove, pick up, step on, or destroy any marine life during the trip.  
    • Follow the crew's instructions and do not snorkel separately from the group. Failure to do so will result in the crew stopping you from participating in the activity and no refunds will be made.

  • You will be responsible for obtaining your own visas to enter Sabah. 
  • Flights to and from Semporna will be at your own arrangement. Contact our Tour Consultants if you need assistance. 
  • You are strongly recommended to have your own personal travel insurance while traveling, to ensure a peace of mind. 
  • Your safety is our top priority. Should the weather or sea conditions render it unsafe to proceed for this tour, Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to change or cancel tour. 
  • If an accident(s) were to occur during the trip, all customers must return to the dive centre together. No refunds or change of date will be made. 
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels so please do reconfirm with our staffs. Please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements.

USEFUL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry. 
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some environmental-friendly SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to shield you from the sun.
