Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Tawau Airport / Transfer to Semporna / Check In

Upon arrival at Tawau Airport, you will be transferred directly to Semporna. The journey takes approximately 1-hour.

Once reaching Semporna, you will check in to the accommodation of your choice.  

Free and easy for the day.

Day 2 - Mabul Island / Kapalai Island / Semporna

First day of island hopping! Hop onto the speedboat, where it will whisk you away to the tropical paradise – Mabul Island! Initiate your day with an invigorating snorkeling or diving session! 

Recognized for its distinctive and rarely encountered creatures, Mabul Island is a haven for underwater enthusiasts, providing opportunities to spot snake eels, juvenile batfish, numerous pelagic reef fishes, and the occasional flamboyant cuttlefish during a standard dive.  

After indulging in a packed lunch, the adventure continues with a transfer to Kapalai Island. Here, crystal-clear waters invite you to another thrilling snorkelling or diving session amidst the resort's picturesque surroundings.  

Dive into the clear waters surrounding Kapalai Island for another round of snorkelling or diving, exploring vibrant coral gardens, encountering fascinating marine life, and marvelling at the underwater landscapes. 

Discover photo-worthy spots around the Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort, whether it's the overwater bungalows, wooden walkways, or the scenic surroundings. Ample opportunities await photography enthusiasts to capture the beauty of the island.  

Return to Semporna for a relaxed evening, allowing for free and easy activities, followed by an overnight rest.

Day 3 - Mataking Island / Timba Timba Island / Semporna

Day 4 - Sipadan & Mabul Islands (Sipadan Package) / Mabul & Kapalai Islands (Non-Sipadan Package) / Semporna

Embark on an awe-inspiring adventure to the Sipadan and Mabul (Sipadan Package only) or Mabul and Kapalai (Non-Sipadan Package only) for a fun day of diving.

Sipadan Island offers abundant marine biodiversity and unparalleled underwater wonders such as green turtles, bump parrotfish, and barracudas. 

At Mabul Island, explore a thriving coral reef teeming with colourful fish and playful crustaceans as you swim along the waters.

For muck diving enthusiasts, Kapalai Island offers a world-class muck diving experience on sandy muck bottoms teeming with unique and fascinating creatures rarely seen elsewhere.

Return to Semporna for a relaxed evening, followed by an overnight rest.

Day 5 - Semporna / Tawau Airport / Departure or Extend Tour

Following a delightful breakfast, proceed to check out from the hotel in Semporna and make your way to Tawau Airport for your departing flight. 

Bid adieu to the charming surroundings of Semporna as you embark on your onward journey or your trip in Sabah!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • The Sipadan Diver Package comprises 1 day with 2 dives in Sipadan and an additional dive in Mabul. The remaining days dedicated to diving will be devoted to exploring other islands. 
  • To opt for the Sipadan Diver Package, guests must hold a minimum Advanced Open Water certification. 
  • All diving guests must complete a self-declaration medical form. If you have or suspect any of the medical conditions, obtaining signed clearance from a doctor, valid within 6 months of your planned trip, is necessary. 
  • This tour involves the inherent risks of scuba diving in unpredictable conditions within an open water setting. Amazing Borneo reserves the right to prevent guests from participating in diving if they are deemed physically or medically unfit based on our sole discretion. 
  • If an accident(s) were to occur during the trip, all customers must return to the dive centre together. No refunds or change of date will be made. 
  • It is strongly recommended for divers to observe a waiting period of 18 hours before flying after a dive. Opting for the 11:00 Hrs flight on the following day is considered the safest option after diving. 
  • The earliest shuttle pick-up from Semporna to Tawau Airport is available at 06:00 Hrs, and the final shuttle pick-up from Tawau Airport to Semporna is at 09:30 Hrs. Kindly be informed that all transfers are conducted on a shared van basis. For those desiring a private transfer, additional charges will be applicable.

  • Flights to and from Semporna will be at your own arrangement. Contact our Tour Consultants if you need assistance.
