Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Tawau Airport / Transfer to Semporna / Check In

Upon arrival at Tawau Airport, you will be transferred directly to Semporna. The journey takes approximately 1-hour drive.    

Once reaching Semporna, you will check in to your accommodation.

Day 2 - Timba Timba Island / Mataking Island / Semporna

First day of island hopping! Hop onto the speedboat where it will whisk you away to the tropical paradise – Timba Timba Island in just 40 minutes.  

Upon arrival, gear up for an immersive snorkelling adventure in the crystal-clear waters of Timba-Timba. Receive a swift briefing before plunging into the depths, where you might be fortunate enough to encounter resting nurse sharks, barracudas, and a mesmerizing array of eels.  

Recharge with a delightful lunch break featuring a wholesome packed meal.  

Our next destination is the breathtaking Mataking Island, offering a glimpse of some of Sabah's finest marine life, from large schooling fish to incredible macro life.  

Return to Semporna for a relaxed evening, allowing for free and easy activities, followed by an overnight rest.

Day 3 - Sipadan & Mabul Islands (Sipadan Package) / Mabul & Kapalai Islands (Non-Sipadan Package) / Semporna

Dive into paradise with a thrilling day trip to either Sipadan and Mabul (Sipadan Package only) or Mabul and Kapalai (Non-Sipadan Package only). 

Famed for its unparalleled biodiversity, the world-class dive sites at Sipadan Island offer exciting encounters with rare and unique marine lives, including green turtles, bumphead parrotfish, and schools of barracuda amongst vibrant coral reefs.

Dive into a thriving underwater world at Mabul Island, teeming with colourful fish and playful crustaceans. Here, you can explore the vibrant reefs, making it one of the best dive sites in Semporna.

For muck diving enthusiasts, Kapalai Island boasts world-class muck diving on its sandy bottoms. Unearth a world of unique and fascinating underwater creatures rarely seen elsewhere as you dive around the island.

After your exhilarating dives, return to Semporna and unwind for the evening before a restful overnight stay.

Day 4 - Semporna / Tawau Airport / Departure or Extend Tour 

Ccheck out from the Semporna hotel and transfer to Tawau Airport for your flight.

  • For Bohey Dulang Hike:
    • Kindly prepare RM50 in cash to cover the Ranger Fee at Bohey Dulang. This fee applies to groups of 1-6 pax. 
    • Sneakers or hiking boots are COMPULSORY for hiking. Sandals, flip-flops, and croc slippers are strictly not allowed. Sabah Parks has the right to ban hikers with improper shoewear. 
    • The shoe rental kiosk is no longer operating, so please remember to bring your own shoes.
    • In case of rain and the cancellation of the Bohey Dulang hiking, we will swap the activity to a snorkelling session.
    • Due to the limited number of rangers available, the waiting time can be 1-2 hours, depending on the time it took for the other groups to return to the foothill.
    • Children below 6 years old are not allowed to join the hiking activity.
    • Please be ready at the boat departure point at 08:00 Hrs. 
  • Boat journey to the Island(s) may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases.   
  • Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enroll in this activity.  
  • Please do not bring valuables, as there are no lockers on the islands.  
  • Be a responsible snorkeler to protect our marine ecosystem.  
    • If we deem your snorkelling skills or attitude may bring harm to the marine life or other guests, the crew has the right to stop you from participating in this activity.  
    • It is strictly prohibited to remove, pick up, step on, or destroy any marine life during the trip.  
    • Follow the crew's instructions and do not snorkel separately from the group. Failure to do so will result in the crew stopping you from participating in the activity and no refunds will be made. 
  • Divers will need to have a minimum certification of Advanced Open Water to dive at Sipadan.
  • You will be responsible for obtaining your own visas to enter Sabah. 
  • Flights to and from Semporna will be at your own arrangement. Contact our Tour Consultants if you need assistance. 
  • You are strongly recommended to have your own personal travel insurance while traveling, to ensure a peace of mind. 
  • Your safety is our top priority. Should the weather or sea conditions render it unsafe to proceed for this tour, Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to change or cancel tour. 
  • If an accident(s) were to occur during the trip, all customers must return to the dive centre together. No refunds or change of date will be made. 
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels so please do reconfirm with our staffs. Please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements. 
  • Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation reserved should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.

  • Tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated.

Peak Season Surcharges

  • Peak Season surcharges of an additional RM 50 per person is applicable. Please check with our tour consultant for the peak season dates.
  • Your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry. 
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some environmental-friendly SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to shield you from the sun.
