Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Miri / Long Akah Arrival / Penan Village Experience

Guests have two travel options to reach Long San: 

Option 1 – Overland Journey: 
07:00 Hrs: Depart from Miri City by 4WD, travelling through scenic highlands, rural settlements, and forest roads before arriving at Long San Village. Enjoy the views of Sarawak’s interior and the changing landscapes along the way. 

Option 2 – Flight Connection: 
Head to Miri Airport, then take a short domestic flight to Long Akah Airport. Upon arrival, transfer (5 mins) to Jevinda Village Stay, your eco-lodge base in Ulu Baram. 

After check-in, enjoy lunch at the lodge before heading out on a scenic boat ride to Long Beku Penan Village, home to Sarawak’s indigenous Penan people. Learn about their traditional way of life and watch demonstrations of handcrafted machete-making (parang), a skill passed down through generations. 

Continue with a cruise along the Baram River, where you can try traditional net casting and spot wildlife along the riverbanks. 
Return to Jevinda Village Stay for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - U’ong Bilong / The Three Sisters Waterfalls Trek

Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, then take a short 20-minute drive to the trailhead. 

Embark on a jungle trek to U’ong Bilong Waterfall (approx. 45–90 mins), followed by another scenic hike to The Three Sisters Waterfall, where crystal-clear cascades tumble through the pristine rainforest. 

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the waterfalls before returning to Jevinda Village Stay in the late afternoon. 
Relax and unwind before dinner. Overnight at Jevinda Village Stay.

Day 3 - Departure

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Long Akah Airport for your onward flight, or return by 4WD to Miri City.

  • To ensure a more comfortable trek, pack mosquito and leech repellent. 
  • Bring a trekking pole for better grip and stability, especially on steeper terrain. 
  • If you plan to swim at the waterfalls, pack a change of clothes for comfort. 
  • Please help keep the trail and waterfall areas clean for other visitors and wildlife.
  • Flights to Long Akah operate on Mondays (direct) and on Wednesdays and Fridays with a short transit stop in Marudi before continuing to Long Akah. 
  • Flight tickets are not included in the package. Please liaise with our Sales Team if you need assistance with booking your domestic flights. 
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended. 
  • This is a community-based eco tour; guests are encouraged to respect local culture and the natural environment. 
  • Activities are subject to weather conditions. Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to amend routes, timetables, itineraries, or accommodation should conditions beyond our control require it. 
  • Effective from 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia implemented a Tourism Tax (TTx). Foreign tourists are required to pay MYR 10 per room per night, payable upon check-in. Malaysians and permanent residents are exempted upon presentation of valid identification.
