Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Sandakan / MY Nature Resort / (Optional) Rainforest Discovery Centre / Flying Squirrel Platform / Night Walk

Arrive in Sandakan by flight. Meet your driver and transfer to MY Nature Resort in Sepilok, approximately a 25-to-30-minute drive. Upon arrival, check in and settle into your rainforest-surrounded accommodation. 

Lunch is provided at the resort. 

16:00 hrs: After settling in, proceed to the Rainforest Discovery Centre, where you can explore the orchid garden and venture across the Canopy Walkway. 

18:00 hrs: Proceed to the Flying Squirrel Platform within the resort grounds to observe small forest creatures as they become active in the early evening. 

After Dinner: If weather permits, join a guided night walk along the MY Nature Boardwalk located behind the resort. Accompanied by a guide, explore the rainforest after dark and learn about nocturnal wildlife that inhabits the area. 

Overnight stay at MY Nature Resort.

Day 2 - Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary

08:00 hrs: Breakfast at the resort. 

09:00 hrs: Depart for the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Witness the orangutan feeding session and explore the centre’s forest trails and observation platforms. 

Proceed to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, located next to the orangutan centre, to learn about conservation efforts and observe sun bears in a natural environment. 

11:00 hrs: Return to the resort for lunch. 

After lunch, proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary to observe these unique creatures up close during feeding time, learning about the species and its habitat while there. 

Return to MY Nature Resort. Free time to rest, take a dip in the pool, or enjoy the other resort facilities. 

Overnight stay at MY Nature Resort.

Day 3 - Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart for Sandakan, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or Sandakan Airport.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Please ensure you are holding an air ticket to Sandakan. Flights are not included in this package. 
  • If you have specific dietary requirements or allergies, kindly inform us in advance so that suitable arrangements can be made. 
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia has implemented a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTx). Foreign tourists are required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and are required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption. 
  • Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. 
  • Walking distances are generally short and manageable, making the tour suitable for families and seniors. 
  • This is a nature-based experience, and guests should expect insects and forest sounds, especially at night.
