Day 1 - Sandakan Arrival / Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Ormond Hotel Sandakan Stay

Arrive at Sandakan airport and meet your guide before heading into Sandakan’s renowned wildlife region.

Begin your journey at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you will witness the morning feeding session at 10:00 Hrs as semi-wild orangutans emerge from the surrounding rainforest. Gain insight into their rehabilitation at the education centre, followed by a walk along the boardwalk to the feeding platform.

Continue to the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to observe rescued sun bears in a natural forest environment while learning about the conservation efforts protecting this endangered species.

After lunch at a local restaurant, spend the afternoon at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, exploring canopy walkways, forest trails, and lush gardens that showcase the area’s rich biodiversity.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before transferring to Ormond Hotel Sandakan for check-in.

Day 2 - Gomantong Cave / Bilit Kinabatangan River Cruise / Ormond Hotel Sandakan Stay

After breakfast, depart Sandakan for Gomantong Cave, one of Sabah’s most well-known limestone cave systems. Enjoy a guided walk inside the cave and learn about its unique ecosystem, including the famous swiftlet nests that are sustainably harvested.

Continue to Bilit along the Kinabatangan River, Sabah’s longest river and an important wildlife corridor. Enjoy a relaxing Kinabatangan River cruise, where you can spot proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles, and other animals along the riverbanks. Lunch will be served in Bilit, followed by some time to rest before your return journey.

In the evening, have dinner before travelling back to Sandakan and returning to Ormond Sandakan for your overnight stay.

Day 3 - Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary / Departure

After breakfast, check out and depart for the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, set within a coastal mangrove forest near Sandakan. Observe the proboscis monkeys during their feeding session, where you can watch these unique primates up close as they move between trees and feeding platforms.

After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before your transfer to Sandakan Airport for your onward journey.
