Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Sandakan / Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort

Arrive at Sandakan Airport and begin your adventure with a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Learn about Sabah’s most iconic primates and observe them up close during feeding time. Next, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see the world’s smallest bear species and hear their conservation story.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Explore canopy walkways, rainforest trails, and botanical gardens rich in birdlife.

End the day with a seafood dinner at a local restaurant, then check in to Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort for your overnight stay.

Day 2 - Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort / Gomantong Cave / Kinabatangan River Cruise

After breakfast, depart at 09:00 Hrs for Gomantong Cave, famous for its limestone formations and thriving swiftlet and bat populations. Take a guided walk through the forest and cave to learn about its ecological significance.

Continue to Bilit along the Kinabatangan River. After lunch at a riverside lodge, head out on a wildlife river cruise to search for proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles, and possibly even wild pygmy elephants.

Return to Sepilok after dinner for another peaceful night at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort.

Day 3 - Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort / Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary / Sandakan Airport

After breakfast, check out and visit the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. Watch these uniquely Bornean primates during their feeding sessions and observe their natural behaviours in a mangrove setting.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Sandakan Airport for your onward journey.
