Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Start with a brief introduction at the education centre before heading to the feeding platform to witness semi-wild orangutans during their morning feeding session at 10:00 Hrs. Afterwards, stroll along the wooden boardwalk for a closer look at these fascinating primates in their natural habitat.
Next, proceed to the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Here, you will gain insight into the world’s smallest bear species while observing rescued sun bears roaming within their forest enclosures from designated viewing areas.
Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) and enjoy a walk along the canopy walkway, where you can take in views of the rainforest and its diverse plant and bird life.
In the evening, have dinner at a local restaurant before transferring to Ormond Hotel Sandakan for check-in and an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, a protected area surrounded by mangrove forest. Here, you will have the chance to observe proboscis monkeys during feeding time and watch their unique movements and social behaviour up close in their natural habitat.
Afterwards, proceed for lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, you will be transferred to Sandakan Airport for your onward flight.
