Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Kota Kinabalu / Kinabalu Park HQ / Panalaban Base Camp

  • We will pick you up at the Sabah Tourism Board Building for a 2-hour journey to Kinabalu Park Headquarters. Enjoy scenic views of villages and the breathtaking Crocker Range along the way.
  • At Kinabalu Park Headquarters, our guide will handle your registration and provide you with an ID tag and packed lunch.
  • After registration, we will transfer you to the starting point at Timpohon Gate. You will climb the mountain for about 4-5 hours from here.
  • Upon reaching Panalaban Base Camp, check in to your accommodation at Laban Rata Resthouse for the night.
  • Wrap up your day with a buffet dinner at Laban Rata Restaurant.

Day 2 - Low's Peak / Descend Mount Kinabalu/ Mount Kinabalu

  • Wake up for an early supper and get ready to continue your journey toward the Mount Kinabalu summit at 2:00AM. The climb towards the summit will test your fitness and determination. If the weather is on your side, you might even catch a breathtaking sunrise over majestic Mount Kinabalu.
  • By 7:00AM, start your descent back to Panalaban Base Camp for a late breakfast and check out of your accommodation.
  • Trek down to Timpohon Gate, where you will be transferred back to Kinabalu Park Headquarters. Estimated time of arrival is between 1:00PM and 3:00PM.
  • Congratulations! You've earned your Certificate of Achievement.
  • Before heading back to Kota Kinabalu city, recharge with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Kinabalu Park.
  • Finally, we will transfer you back to Kota Kinabalu city. The journey will take around 2 hours.

*Lunch will be converted to a packed meal for all climbers who reach the local restaurant after 16:00hrs on DAY 02 (Mt Kinabalu descent).

  • Climbers arriving at Timpohon Gate after 16:30 Hrs will be charged a fee of MYR 15 per hour per guide, payable directly to your guide on the spot.
  • Tipping is like a warm hug. It's never expected but greatly appreciated.
  • Remember to bring your MyKad (for Malaysians) or Passport (for non-Malaysians) for verification during registration at Kinabalu Park office.
  • Laban Rata Resthouse does NOT provide boiled water for drinking; complimentary coffee & tea during breakfast & supper only. But you can buy mineral water, coffee, tea, and more at the Grocery Counter (Laban Rata Resthouse).
  • Pendant Hut offers filtered hot water for drinking/refills.
  • Check-out at Laban Rata Resthouse is at 10:00 Hrs. A Late Check-Out Fee of MYR100/hour applies if you check out later than 10:30 Hrs, paid on the spot.
  • Starting from September 1, 2017, the Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTx) of MYR 10 per room per night is applicable to foreign tourists during check-in. Malaysians and residents are exempt with valid identification.

  • Strictly no changes are allowed for dates, names, or pick-up/drop-off locations.
  • The meeting point is at Sabah Tourism Board Building by 06:15 Hrs in Kota Kinabalu city. Latecomers must arrange their own transport to Kinabalu Park before 09:00 Hrs for final registration.
  • No alternate transport is provided if you miss the pick-up time, as we aim to keep costs low for affordable #GetLucky packages.
  • The drop-off point is at a designated location in Kota Kinabalu City.
  • Booking deposits are non-refundable; cancellations follow our policy in the booking terms.
  • The ratio of mountain guide is a maximum of 5 adult climbers per guide. The mountain guide stays as the "last man" to assist slower climbers.
  • If you prefer a private guide and hotel pick-up/drop-off in KK City, please book ABK-MK01 instead.
  • Please call the hotline number in your itinerary if you are not able to locate your guide.
  • It is best to avoid scheduling your flight on the same day as your mountain descent as delays may occur due to injuries, fatigue, bad weather, or traffic.
  • The meeting point is at Sabah Tourism Board Building in Kota Kinabalu City at 06:15 Hrs. Latecomers will need to arrange their own transport to Kinabalu Park and meet our team before 09:00 Hrs for registration.
  • Kindly note that there will be no alternative transport if you miss the scheduled pick-up.
  • After descending to Kinabalu Park HQ, we will schedule your return transport the latest by 19:30 Hrs. We will ensure your waiting time will not be longer than 2 hours. If you missed the last transport or prefer to depart at your own timing, we are able to arrange a private transfer with an additional surcharge (subject to availability).
  • If you want a private guide with a hotel pick-up/drop-off at your KK City hotel, we recommend booking ABK-MK01 instead.

For your safety, it is advisable to undergo a medical checkup before attempting any mountain climb. Climbing is not recommended if you have a history of health conditions like hypertension, diabetes, palpitation, arthritis, heart disease, severe anaemia, Ppeptic ulcers, epileptic fits, obesity, chronic asthma, muscular cramps, hepatitis, or any other condition that might affect your climb.
