2D1N Kinabatangan River Cruise Safari with Bilit Adventure Lodge Stay

10:30 hrs: Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Sandakan or Sepilok before travelling towards Bilit. Stop at Sepilok for lunch before continuing through Sabah's rural countryside, passing local villages and oil palm plantations as the landscape gradually gives way to lush rainforest.

14:15 hrs: Arrive at Bilit Adventure Lodge and check into your comfortable air-conditioned room. Take some time to relax, explore the lodge grounds or simply enjoy the peaceful riverside surroundings before your first wildlife adventure.

16:00 hrs: Set off on a guided Kinabatangan River wildlife cruise, when the cooler afternoon temperatures encourage animals to become more active. Drift quietly along Sabah's longest river as your guide searches the riverbanks and forest canopy for proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, hornbills, kingfishers, saltwater crocodiles and, with a little luck, the elusive Bornean pygmy elephant or orangutan. Every cruise is different, making each wildlife encounter a memorable surprise.

18:00 hrs: Return to the lodge as the sun begins to set over the river. Freshen up before enjoying a hearty dinner featuring local flavours in the lodge's open-air dining area, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

Spend the evening at leisure, relaxing beneath the stars and listening to the chorus of insects and nocturnal wildlife. Guests may also choose to join an optional guided night walk (at additional expense) to discover the rainforest after dark, when frogs, insects and other nocturnal creatures emerge.

06:00 hrs: Wake to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy a light coffee or tea before setting out for another wildlife adventure.

06:30 hrs: Board your second Kinabatangan River cruise, when the soft morning light and cooler temperatures create excellent conditions for wildlife viewing. Watch as the rainforest comes alive with birdsong while keeping an eye out for hornbills, kingfishers, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, orangutans and other wildlife beginning their day along the riverbanks.

07:30 hrs: Return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out.

08:30 hrs: Depart Bilit Adventure Lodge and travel back to Sandakan, arriving at approximately 11:00 hrs, bringing home unforgettable memories of one of Borneo's richest wildlife destinations.
