Start your 17-day adventure with a convenient pick-up from Kuching International Airport and embark on a Kuching City Tour.
Capture the highlights of Kuching, including the White Cat Statue, Old Court House, Post Office, Square Tower, and Tua Pek Kong Temple.
Enjoy a scenic “Tambang” boat ride across the Sarawak River to a riverside restaurant for dinner before checking in to your hotel.
After breakfast, travel to Bako Jetty for a safety briefing and a 30-minute boat ride to Bako National Park.
Explore the park's trails, spotting wildlife such as wild boars, silvered leaf monkeys, and proboscis monkeys, and learn about the mangrove ecosystem.
Return for lunch at the Bako Canteen, then head back to Kuching for an evening at leisure.
After breakfast, drive 160km and 2 hours to Lachau Bazaar, immersing in local culture and exploring local shops and native markets.
After an early lunch, drive 150km and 1.5 hours to Batang Ai Lake, and take a longboat to Nanga Sumpa.
Check-in to Nanga Sumpa Lodge, enjoy dinner, and relax or connect with nature.
After breakfast, set out for a jungle trek and a longboat ride to Enseluai Waterfall.
Enjoy a riverside BBQ lunch prepared by Iban hosts, followed by a short boat ride and a trek through orangutan habitat to Lubok Kasai Jungle Camp.
After dinner, you may choose to rest or embark on a guided night walk
Wake to the sounds of the jungle and have breakfast before departing by longboat back to Batang Ai Lake Jetty. The boat ride is estimated to take about 2.5 hours.
Drive back to Kuching, stopping for lunch along the way.
Check-in to your Kuching hotel upon arrival.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Kuching International Airport for your flight to Mulu.
Upon arrival in Mulu, transfer 5 minutes to Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa for check-in.
After lunch, attend a safety briefing before your first exploration of Mulu National Park.
Walk through 3km of well-maintained boardwalks to reach the Bat Observatory, where you will be returning to later on.
Nearby is Lang’s Cave, the smallest of the Mulu Show Caves, where you can see limestone formations and bats up close. Keep an eye out for the jellyfish-looking formations!
Next, make your way to Deer Cave, one of the world’s largest cave passages, featuring an ancient riverbed, a unique showerhead formation, and a profile of Abraham Lincoln peeking out from one of the cave openings.
As you exit Deer Cave at dusk, make your way back to the Bat Observatory to witness the bat exodus – a stunning display of millions of bats emerging from the caves in search of food.
After dinner, you may retreat to your comfortable accommodations for the night.
After breakfast, embark on a longboat journey along Melinau River, stopping first at Batu Bungan – a local Penan settlement and market – where you can shop for local crafts and try your hand at a blowpipe.
Return to the longboat and make your way to Wind Cave, its name inspired by the cool breeze that blows through it, featuring an impressive array of stalactites, stalagmites, and flowrocks.
Next, visit Clearwater Cave, 220km in length and one of the longest cave systems in the world. This particular cave is unique for the subterranean river that flows through it and emerges out into a pool.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and swimming at the Clearwater pools before returning to your accommodation for dinner and rest.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Mulu Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu.
Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, transfer by boat to Gaya Island Resort for check-in and enjoy the amenities and dinner at one of the resort's restaurants.
Indulge in a luxurious breakfast at the resort, then choose from a wide range of recreational activities or relax.
Visit the Marine Centre, engage in guided snorkelling, and explore the nature trails.
Visit Spa Village and enjoy dinner at the resort.
After breakfast, check out from Gaya Island Resort and transfer to Tamparuli Town for a walk on the iconic Jambatan Tamparuli suspension bridge.
Make a visit to Nabalu Handicraft Market for snacks and locally handcrafted treasures, set against a backdrop of the stunning and majestic Mount Kinabalu.
After lunch, make a visit to Desa Cow Farm where you can feed the calves and try fresh dairy products including milk, yogurt, and gelato in several flavours.
Transfer to Kundasang and check-in to a mountain resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast at your mountain resort before checking out.
Visit Poring Hot Springs, surrounded by a 100-million-year-old rainforest that you can explore through the Canopy Treetop Walk, a 175-metre-long walkway suspended 60 metres above ground.
Take a dip in the all-natural mineral-rich hot springs, a soothing Japanese-style sulphur bath, as you take in the surrounding garden landscapes.
After lunch, visit Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark to explore the Botanical Garden and learn about the park’s diverse ecosystem. This geopark is home to over 4,500 species of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region.
Drive 5 hours to Sandakan for an overnight stay.
Transfer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for a tour of the centre and to watch the feeding of orangutan. Here, you will learn about the conservation efforts being carried out as you witness these charming creatures up close.
After, visit the nearby Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre, a rescue and rehabilitation facility for the world’s smallest bears!
Drive 2 hours to Sukau Rainforest Lodge, an award-winning eco-lodge perched along the banks of Malaysia’s second longest river, Kinabatangan River.
Once you have settled in, enjoy an evening river cruise along Kinabatangan River, a hotspot for wildlife encounters including pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and more.
After a candlelit dinner overlooking the river, sit in for a slide presentation before retreating to your room for the night.
Embark on an early morning river excursion to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake for opportunities to spot birds and wildlife along the banks.
Following breakfast, you will be taken on an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk to learn about the incredible residents and ecosystem of the region.
After lunch, sit in on an Orangutan Talk before proceeding for another river cruise at dusk.
After dinner, the rest of the night is yours to relax.
Rise bright and early for a morning overland transfer to Danum Valley, a 213km journey that should take about 4 hours.
Danum Valley Conservation Area is home to a 130-million-year-old primary rainforest and is considered one of the best places in Borneo for wildlife observation and encounters.
Check-in at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, an award-winning eco-lodge offering comfort and luxury amidst this dense, ancient rainforest.
Enjoy lunch, followed by a slide presentation, before embarking on an afternoon introductory trek to explore the nearby nature trails and 300m canopy walk.
After dinner, head out on a night safari drive in search of nocturnal animals (subject to weather conditions).
Start your day with some breakfast before venturing out on a morning trek to Coffin Cliff – a Kadazandusun burial site – and View Point, an observation point that offers bird’s eye views of the surrounding rainforest.
After lunch at the lodge, you may choose to go for another trek or opt for tubing down Danum River.
After dinner, your guide will take you on a night walk where you may see nocturnal animals like civets, moonrats, and more.
After breakfast, the morning is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
After lunch, check out of Borneo Rainforest Lodge and transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for your Kota Kinabalu flight.
Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, head over to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay.
