Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Kota Kinabalu/ Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TARP)

08:00 Hrs: Pick up from your hotel lobby and transfer to Jesselton Point Jetty for your island adventure.

08:45 Hrs: Meet the dive team at Jesselton Point. Complete registration and prepare for departure.

09:00 Hrs: Depart by boat to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Enjoy a scenic 20-minute ride across the South China Sea toward the cluster of islands within the protected marine park.

09:30 Hrs: Arrive at the first snorkelling site. Safety briefing and equipment preparation conducted by your experienced Dive Master, including guidance on snorkelling techniques and marine safety.

10:00 Hrs: Begin Snorkelling Session 1. Explore vibrant coral reefs and observe tropical marine life in clear, shallow waters.

10:50 Hrs: Rest break onboard. Relax, hydrate, and enjoy the sea breeze before continuing to the next location.

11:50 Hrs: Snorkelling Session 2 at a different reef site within the marine park. Spend designated time discovering more diverse coral formations and marine species.

12:40 Hrs: Transfer to one of the TARP islands for lunch. Enjoy your meal before free time on the island.

14:00 Hrs: Snorkelling Session 3. Continue exploring the underwater world, either guided from the boat or directly from the shore, depending on sea conditions.

After snorkelling, enjoy free and easy time to relax on the sandy beach, swim in the calm waters, sunbathe, or explore short forest trails at your own pace.

16:00 Hrs: Depart the island and return by boat to Jesselton Point.

17:00 Hrs: Arrival at Jesselton Point and transfer back to your hotel.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Baby Car Seats (for infant aged 0-2) and Child Booster Seats (for children aged 3-11) are available for rental. Please check with your tour consultant for availability.
  • Boat journey to the Island may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases. Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enrol in this activity.
  • While the jellyfish season varies, it usually occurs during mid of the year or/and end of the year. Do be extra careful and inform our guides should you be stung. Rest assured that our guides are first aid trained.
  • Jelly bugs are common in the waters but they are usually harmless and their stings will just cause some slight itch.
  • There are no lockers on the island. Please take good care of your own belongings and do not bring valuables.

  • This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle.  Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee.  Please inform us when making the bookings.
  • Your safety is our top priority. Should the weather or sea conditions render it unsafe to proceed for this tour, Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to change or cancel tour. Tour will be refunded accordingly.
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels due to traffic conditions, please reconfirm with our staffs. Should the transport be delayed, please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements.
  • Effective 1 January 2026, the use of single-use plastic bags is strictly prohibited in all Sabah Parks. This policy is implemented to safeguard the natural environment and protect both marine and forest ecosystems from pollution and long-term harm. Visitors are required to bring their own reusable eco bags when entering any Sabah Parks area.
  • Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation reserved should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.
  • Tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated.

USEFUL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry!
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to protect your skin.
  • For any Island tour, if you're interested in water sports (ie banana boat, seawalking, parasailing, etc), be sure to bring along a little bit of extra cash as these activities are not included in our tour package.
