3D2N Tabin Wildlife Reserve with Jungle Walk, Mud Volcano & Lipad Waterfall

Travel from Lahad Datu to Tabin Wildlife Resort and settle into your timber lodge beside the Lipad River. Birds, insects and small mammals can often be spotted around the resort. Learn about the jungle herbs traditionally used by local communities before heading into the rainforest.

In the afternoon, trek to Lipad Mud Volcano, where wildlife visits the mineral salt lick. Look for animal footprints in the mud, then climb the observation tower for a view of the volcano and surrounding forest.

After dinner, enjoy a presentation about Tabin’s natural wonders, followed by a trip to look for nocturnal wildlife and birds.

You may join an early morning bird walk before breakfast. Later, trek through the rainforest to Lipad Waterfall. Take a dip in the natural pool, enjoy a shower beneath the waterfall, or relax and explore the surrounding vegetation.

In the afternoon, try the Tabin Rainforest Foot Soak, made with a blend of herbs to soothe tired legs after the trek. As dusk falls, head out on a drive to look for wildlife and birds becoming active.

After dinner, join a night walk along a trail near the resort in search of sleeping birds, frogs and other nocturnal wildlife.

After breakfast, stroll to the nearby rock pool or riverside. Take a dip or spend a little more time enjoying the sounds of the forest before leaving Tabin. After lunch, travel back to Lahad Datu.
