CHILD POLICY

Children 3 to 11 Years Old: Pay 50% of the applicable Resorter (Non-Diver) rates.
Infants 0-2 years old are Free of Charge.
The child rate is for children who occupy the same room with their parents.
If the room consists of only one adult and one child, the room charges shall be based on 2 adults price.
Any children who are certified divers will have to pay FULL Diver rates regardless of their age & parents are to be held responsible for their child at all times.
Note: To enrol in a Junior Open Water Diver course, a child must be 10 years old or older.

SINGLE TRAVELER POLICY

All single travellers will subject to additional 50% Single Supplement Surcharge on top of the total package rates for single room occupancy applies.
However, additional surcharge apply for single travellers during scheduled or unscheduled land and boat transfers. Please refer to "Land & Boat Transfer" or consult our Tour Consultant for more information.

GROUP POLICY

If you are a licensed diver, you are eligible to book on "Diver" package, or you can choose to book "Non-Diver" package, with additional cost if you wish to dive.
Diver packages are subjected to resort's diving schedules and regulations as set by dive center.

If you staying overnight at Heritage hotel Tawau (1 day before check in Mataking Resort), you will picked up from hotel on the next morning at 0730 hrs, and take 0930 hrs boat in to Resort.

BOAT TRANSFER

Remarks:

If you cannot make it for the last boat schedule on 1630 hrs due to any delay or unforseen circumstances for boat in to check in resort, you will need to put a night in Tawau. Hotels can be arranged upon request. A transfer from airport to Herritage Hotel in Tawau will be provided if you reached Tawau after 1500 hrs. A scheduled 0730 hrs land transfer from Herritage Hotel to Semporna Jetty will be arranged for you and follow 0930 hrs boat into Mataking Island.
For departure flights that unable to meet our daily boat schedule, a special boat out transfer at 0630 hrs can be arranged at no additional cost (subject to availability and weather condition)

ADVANCE ARRIVAL EXCEPTION:

Sabah Parks Announcement

Effective in 2020 onwards, Sabah Parks has announced that Sipadan Island will be CLOSED for any activities including Diving and Snorkeling during the month of November every year (1-30 November). The purpose of this one-month closure is to give a “RECUPERATION PERIOD” to the marine environment on Sipadan Island. During this closure period, Divers and Snorkelers will be brought to other islands of Tun Sakaran Marine park for their activities.

TRIP SCHEDULE

0700 hrs: Breakfst at Restaurant
0730 hrs: Boat transfer to Sipadan Island
0900 hrs: Expected arrival at Sipadan Isand and report to Sabah Parks. 1st dive / boat snorkelling is conducted
1100 hrs: 2nd dive / boat snorkelling is conducted
1200 hrs: Lunch (Packed from resort)
1330 hrs: 3rd dive / boat snorkelling
1500 hrs: Boat transfer back to Mataking Resort
1630 hrs: Expected arrival back to Mataking Resort

Notes:

A minimum certification of Advanced Open Water is required to dive at Sipadan.
You need to book this trip in advance (1 month in advance) in order to secure the daily Sipadan Government Entry Permit / allocation Sipandan entry permit (6 permits per day, first come first serve basis)
The resorts determines the right to decide the date for the Sipadan trip during the duration stay of the guests.
Once the Sipadan Trip is confirmed by the resort, you need to pay for the charges (as stated in the OPTIONAL ADD ON(S)) and the charges can be made upon check out at the resort, unless the resort have other replacement for your permit and boat space or under special circumstances.
In the event of bad weather and the trip has to be cancelled or if the guest cancels on personal reasons, permit paid of MYR 140 per person is NOT refundable or transferable to a later date.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the restricted Sipadan entry permit quota set by Sabah Parks, guests are required to summit Full Names with Nationality, Gender, Passport Numbers and contact address for us to proceed with the permits application at least 14 days in advance prior to arrival in order to allow sufficient time to process and obtain the permit approval. Failure to do this can result in Guest being denied entry to Sipadan Island.

A minimum certification of Advanced Open Water is required to dive at Sipadan.

The resorts determines the right to decide the date for the Sipadan trip during the duration stay of the guests.

HOW TO GET THERE

Take a short 45 minutes Malaysia Airlines domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau then you will be met and transferred to Semporna Jetty (Harbor) by scheduled land transfer vehicle (appro. 1-hour drive) and finally, you will be transferred to Mataking Resort by scheduled speedboat (appro. 40 minutes boat ride).

DIVING TERMS & REGULATIONS

All reservation MUST provide the following information: Name as per passport, Passport Number, Nationality, Gender & Flight details
Failure to provide flight details 7 days before arrival may incur fines by the resort due to last minute arrangement.
Package Excludes: Diving equipments & gears, alcoholic drinks, laundry, room service, airfares and item not mentioned or specified in the packages
After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package which have not been utilized
Weather conditions: We cannot predict the weather conditions these days for scuba diving even for the best season
All types of activities being offered by the company on the island especially dive activities are subjects to bad sea, weather conditions / poor visibility and also divers’ own physical abilities (eg. Injuries, intoxification, hangover, etc). Therefore, the dive centre reserves the final decision and rights to either proceed or abort any activities / dives for any safety reasonss.
If the room consists of only one adult and one child, the room charges shall be based on 2 adults price.
No combination of package is allowed (e.g. 02 nights of dive package plus 01 night of non-dive packages).

IMPORTANT NOTES

Tipping is like giving a hug. Although it’s never expected, it’s always very much appreciated.
No diving on arrival and departure day even no flying.
Boat journey to the Island may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases. Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enrol in this activity.
We shall NOT be held responsible and reserve the rights to charge the customer for any additional costs rendered by any last minute cancellations, delays and changes of any arrangement made by customer.
We recommend you to follow the recommended flights stated in "Suggested Flight Information" dropdown bar in order to connect to the daily normal boat transfer in and out from the island to minimize the waiting time.

Flying after diving (last day at resort) - Divers are required to have 24 hours of surface interval before then fly. However, we believes that this differ from different individuals, agencies and even dive computer / dive tables. If divers choose to dive less than 24 hours (recommended hours) before fly, you will be required to sign a separate Liability / Release Form for this matter. However, this is still subjects to approval of the Dive Center management from the Resort.
Unused portion of the packages cannot be refunded or discounted from the rates mentioned above.
